Happy Martin Luther King Day

Today is a day to celebrate the life of a man who stood in the face of an unbeatable adversity and found a way to defeat it without senseless violence. He united african americans everywhere and created an awareness that swept the country (including the White House) of the injustices that were happening in the south.

to even the evilest of KKK members, Martin Luther King wanted to do no more than hug the guy and say that despite their differences they should be friends. He was a brilliant public speaker who knew how to spark a fire in crowds by using exactly the right words and gestures... by the end of his run he was speaking in front of thousands in washington, one of the most famous speeches in history.

so today is not just a day off from school or work (if you have it off) it is a day to remember this great man.

Happy MLK Day, everyone, and remember what he stood for. Social justice isn't a cause that was won and is now over with. Every generation needs to unite to fix the injustices of our society.
