So why are these seeds so inexpensive? Just lower quality strain versions?

Nirvana is the best selling seed company on the planet so they make their money on volume.

Cool, because I ordered four varieties of their standard seeds.

I have a cautious mind regarding these guys....I wish they are a quality company ...that I might buy all their top strains for a fraction of the price as elsewere..
Again...I ask anyone who knows about and has grown Nirvana plants to kiss and tell!

I just did a search on Nirvana seeds and it seems like they're OK, although the percentage of famale plants that you'll get out of ten seeds might be quite low. That's fine for me since I'll only be growing one plant at a time.

Crispyfiend, that was a very dumb remark.. You could just as well get a male when you're growing one plant!:p
Nirvana are fine seeds..!:) I grew 2 AK 48's and one White Widow from Nirvana.. Both AK's where male, but the widow is a female..!:)
They grow just fine!:)

Oh yeah well I know it's dumb from that perspective, I could spend the next year just waiting for a female to grow, but I meant that I don't want some huge crop. I mean, I do want a huge crop, but I don't want to go to jail. Damn everything is too damn complicated.

Nirvanna is a great way to enter this hobby. Excellent price and you can score decent seeds. They push out a lot of F2's though, which can result in a nuber of different phenotypes in one pack of seeds. Some don't like this, though if you are looking for a mum it might give you more choice. If you are looking for a particular strain and want the best genetics then a little research will send you to the right breeder (but probably not at Nirvana's prices). My 2 cents, there's better breeders out there, but it's a great way to get growing on a limited budget. Joey Weed seeds has great genetics at a fair price too.
Hope this helps
i thried to germinate 10 white widow seeds from nirvana
only got 3 and only one sick little plant came from those 3
i wont order nirvana again

gotta understand environment is jus as important as seed quality gotta keep in mind male charecteristics are inbeded in both male an female seeds but become dominant once conditions get to far out of your hands and as for that wanting small yeild to avaid jailtime... illegal is illegal if u invite a cop ova to ur crib chances are he'll lock u up for 10 or 1 plant..personally would ratha see the judge for a female plants then one male but since i only grow tomatoes i dont have to worry about that anytime soon right fellaz

A plant is a plant. The different breeders have not created new plants. They are all cannabis regardless. One strain might be different than another but it will never be a different plant. Sure a lot depends on the genetics in what we look for (ex. THC level, smell, taste etc.) but most of what the plant grows on is what the growers give it (envorinment, feeding schedual, etc). I hope you understand what I'm trying to get at because I'm really high right now. Goodluck <3

Several days ago I planted three Nirvana seeds, and one of them has sprouted into a nice little healthy looking seedling. I germinated them in big pots, all organic soil that has a good amount of worm castings, but the top layer is just that fluffy seedling starter mix, organic as well. This morning I searched around in the soil carefully of the no-sprouters and didn't find any signs of srouts so I used those pots for two new nirvana seeds, but this time they're both big fat prime seeds, one totally zebra striped. I don't know the exact strains though because I mixed up five strains together. I'm using a 125 watt hydrofarm compact fluorescent with hood and mylar in a grow cabinet, with a temp of about 85 F. The germinating seeds are under the light, but they are covered with aluminum-coated plates to protect them from the light.

I don't find germinating very complicated.. This is my first grow... All my Nirvana seeds cracked, exept for one.. That was only because it got squashed by me.. Accident.. lol!:)
But, you must have been unlucky.. REALLY unlucky..! (or just germinated in a dumb way)

hey guys I know im new here but Im not new to growing and the only seeds i purchase are from nirvana because I dont believe you have to spend hundreds of dollars to get good genetics. Through my exprecne with nirvana genes I can find no problems with them they grow just as good as anybodys on the market today you just have to pick that one pheno that just blows your mind and make a mother and clones and you can keep it around for as long as you want. As far as germinating goes you might want to rethink your method because I can get 95% sucess with germanating and I have no probs with only getting one female because as long as you can clone you can have a hundred females thats just my 2 cents.

:rasta: well I start out by soaking my seeds in water just plain tap water thats sat for a few hours. Then I soak the seeds for 24 hours the seeds that fall are the ones you keep but I have found that if you keep the ones that float you can be surprised so dont throw nothing away. Then I use the paper towel method placing the seeds in between the paper towels and placing inside a zip lock bag. You want to find a warm dark place to place the bag I have a clone veg cab with a top self that stays warm from light below. Within a few days and maybe a few hours because I have had some pop for me real early when you see the tap root plant in soil of your chosing and dont place under your lights yet place them in warm dark place until you see it come up. Iplace mine under cfls for the first week then I place under my big dog light.:rasta:

The growing medium I use for veg is scotts potting soil with no admendments I just use alsaka fish emulsion and superthrive its easy and it works for me. I let mine veg until it wants to let me know what it is a girl or a boy. Once the females have shown me there ready I wait a little bit until the side shoots get big enough to clone. Once I get the clones the mother will be flowered then I start to admend the soil with blood and bone meal dolomite lime and wormcastings. For nutes I use Dr Hornsbys big bud and blood bud because they are made for the MJ plant and the bud size I get is out of this world.

Best company I tried when I grew. I've had their Papaya, White Rhino, AK48 and Aurora Indica. I always had 100% germination rates and better than 60% female. The weed was severely strong and Papaya was one of my favorites, subtle but powerful. 100% cloning using the water cloning method.
Great shit at a great price.
they are cheap because they sell knock-off's of originals. they take the base strains and breed them according to whatever recipe a strain calls for and make seeds. they don't spend the time necessary for cubing/stabilizing strains nor the experimentation involved so their overhead is greatly reduced.

This was a great post. Overall people found that Nirvana was an excellent site and have had seeds delivered without problems and makes me feel good when I plan on going for the cabinet grow chamber I want to build in the near future at my next house.
I am curious though, how did you setup shipping? did you use an alternate name at your address and paid Nirvana cash or M.O. or what? Please answer if you have experienced buying seeds from GypseNirvana.

Ok so, other than Nirvana... what other seed banks are very reputable?

As far as I know, Nirvana is a reputable company with quality seed. I ordered three strains a month ago (one outdoor, two indoor), they arrived within a week. All seeds I've put in the ground, all actually growing. It's too early though to comment on quality.
Nirvana is selling seeds, among other ways, via a dutch company where I go for all my psychonautic needs and if Nirvana wouldnt be trustworthy, this company would stop selling their seeds right away because they are very customer-satisfaction oriented (forgive my poor grammar please ;) ).

Hermi's occur, like noodlz62 said, when a plant is stressed by the growing conditions as a way to ensure survival. Check your grow conditions like soil acidity and lighting.
I grew over 30 plants from 4 different strains from Nirvana and never had a single hermi.

don't be put off by the cheap prices. I've grown Nirvana "knock-off" strains that were every bit and even better than much more expensive seeds. go for it!
