Just a little experiment... I have one of those laser key chains on my key for under the house now... I'm wondering if a little of that red color spectrum will help a leaf or burn it? Would a small amount of time on the plants help or hurt... I'll experiment with a leaf first.

Surely you are kidding......
You must be really high right now.....????

Why not? It's concentrated light in the the red spectrum...
Here's what I did... I have a scrawny 4" 5 week old that is already reveging due to need to harvest. I'm putting light all over the leaves for 2 minutes a day. I'll take a photo tomorrow to show what it did just from today - I'm thinking there won't be any change...
If the plant burns up... Oh well.
It's all about experimenting and keeping good records... Which I'll do with these.
Call me crazy, but don't call me lazy ;)
What if it turned out real well doing the laser on some flowers?

I'm gonna have to go with harddon on this one cuz you really have to be high.
I have a mental picture of you with the laser now and either I'm really high or thats really funny. (maybe both)
Good luck

Lady Vapor....
While everyone appreciates experimentation and stretching the 'fabric of our experiences' you just gotta realize.......
Either you are stoned...or you need to be.....
Now which one is it?

Lasers produce high amounts of dangerous UV rays that the plants do not like. I'd have to side with everyone else here saying that you have to be high. But it kind of gave me an idea in a wierd way. I'm gonna post a thread about it in Basic Growing.

I have found that the plants like the UV lights that I have
and makes the BUDs tighter and they grow better. you don't want to be in the room with them On...

The most efficent lasers are about 10% efficent. Plus there of a given single spectrum freq. They do not produce any frequency than what there tuned freq.. Co2 have the highest % and gas fueled are next. Lasers produce power by using so much power and with a coating on each end to give the required light. I would guess that that hand laser puts out .5 mw. If its one of the real expensive kind. The dia is usualy .032 dia. so you only need roughly 30 per sq. in. roughly 1 watt if power pre sq in . so roughly 4320 per sq ft.
That would only take 12,960 batterys per sq ft.
I would just wait till H3 goes on sale , under $300,000 a truck load and build a gas fired laser. This way you will save money , and not need to joke around.
Giga watts lasers are more fun than HeNe beams, or electronic bulbs.
Never go near the edge of the earth , you can always fall off.

YOu mean like the normal MH bulbs?
Actually if you are bi=polar, or afflicted with S.A.D., like I am both, its quite relaxing and pleasant after being in the lights.

Well I have to admit, ever since I harvested my last grow I'm stoned a lot more when at home :) I have 25 small plants, 3 big ones that are reveging, and 5 smaller ones that are reveging.... In a few months I believe I'll be crawling under a canopy of leaves to water etc. So I figured it would be fun to play with one small reveging one... I could sing to it but it would croak
I like to vap in the evening, and bong while playing in my grow space
I always have my iPod on... I love to listen to Ambient Mokeys by Tangerine Dream while watering etc... I love to make music and put it on the internet for free.
I read an article in WebMD that stated it has been discovered that when a person smokes herb the herb gives out a vib that stimulates creativity! Now I understand why most of my best work comes from when I'm recording stoned!
Thanks all for your comments - I'll let you know how bad I burn it as soon as it's fried!

Hey Lady,
I'd like to see the experiments. Maybe you can grow LEDs later on. Or a plasma/microwave bulb of those.
As to smoking herb, and beaing more creative: Definintely.
It's like turbocharged Advanced Deficit Disorder (ADD).
Best,

LED keychains are not lazers. With a lazer, the light is "lazed". It is one wave length and is emmitted in a straight line of light (a beam of light). LED's are not "lazed" and the light emitted spreads out instead of staying as one concentrated beam.

It's a
L A S E R
which stands for
Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation
But you're right, LEDs are not lasers. Although there are LED lasers out there.

Okay, I know I'm sounding crazy with this... My thinking on this isn't to grow with a laser, but rather enhance a flowers growing with the help of a few minutes of laser light per day. I don't think it will do anything except kill it at most. However, think about how many discoveries have been made by accident. Mutant Buds that become the new Viagra  Here's a pic of it.

One plant experiment is what this hobby is all about. There is no need to flame anyone guy's because they ask questions out of the box no matter how far out they may seam.
I say go for the experiment and play around. Have fun with it. Keep a log and a control plant too. Measure distance temperature everything you may think could affect the test. You may need to recreate this someday you never know.
Do you have a soil meter that has a light meter on it? If so check what it says about the power of the light.
At least you arenā??t taking a piss on your plants to water them or trying to grow with cat shit for fertilizer.

Okay, today I got the pee scared out of me :o I'm having a good time listening to "Eno" do his great synth music (His song "Babies On Fire" makes me smile!) while transplanting some newborns. When I emtyed the dirt from the gallon milk jug I used for a starter I noticed a glimpse of something in the bottom. When I looked into the carton I freaking jumped! The first pic is what scared me shitless :o :o :o :o
The second pic is show day 2 of 2 minutes of my laser facial :stoned:
I named her Laser Lilly - I know it's female as it went to flower when I went to 12 hr. light she started flowering at 4 weeks old. All three are female...
Laser Lilly is the smallest one of the three.
I use a microscope so at 100 X power so I can check to see if it's freaking out the cell structure compared to her sisters of same strain.
If it lives to flower I can compare the trichomes...
Thanks for taking interest in my first weird experiment....

After getting the crap scared out of me I figured anything that desperate to make it to the top deserves a shot with the big kids
