I had to show this to my bro who is a drummer. He actually heard of the guy before, because he won the drum-off, and he said that kid is beyond sick, better than most professional drummers.

It's just scary to imagine how good he'll be when he's 20.

That's nothing. You should hear me on the pots and pans!!!

He was hitting the cymbals upwards and then downwards, again. My face was against the screen.

A riff is just a short musical phrase. That's why people usually say "Guitar 'riffs'".

The kid was doing tupples, change-ups with a similar style to Stewart Copeland. He was soloing with Double Bass alone, let alone the other shit he was doing!

Personally you just sound like a dick who like to bring others down. My bad, carry on.

hes not that good, to be honest

it sounds fast paced because he has a doubble bass peddle that he never lets off on playing, gives it a fast effect, his up and down swings on the hi hats are really novice moves and wouldnt be needed if he had a fast enough stick, and it give a shitty sound to the HH, also, his random useage of the crash and ride and splash symbols are out of synch with the tomms and snare and the toms are out of synch with the snare, my drummers only 4 years older than him and could rape that kid walking, hes good for a twelve year old thou, thats about the only hing impressive

Dude, that's Tony Royster. Jr.

He's a pretty good drummer...the thing is in THIS video (he's now 19 I believe) he's probably about par with most professional drummers in their 30's. I've seen a couple of recent clips of him and he hasn't improved much since this video...so needless to say, though he was GREAT when he was younger, I don't think you'll hear much of his name to come.

Most of that stuff he does looks like it was taught to him, but his technique is amazing. I don't understand how a kid like that could have feet so developed

I promise you your drummer isn't as good as this kid...just the way you seem to be so unimpressed by THIS kid shows me you don't really know what he's doing.

Do you think he got a college scholarship for Band?

This guy is probably the best drummer I've ever witnessed. Apparently he's 40, not married, no kids, and has drummed 4-8 hours a day all his life.

I am truely in awe by this young mans performance. Wow...just...wow!

As a musician, who I have seen quite a few drummers, twice this persons age, twice the experience, who could never, ever equal up to this boys drumming. Not only was the beats very funky in some cases, he is a very tight sounding drummers. All beats were on track, he never lost momentum, or got sloppy with his playing. He's going places, big time.

About 2min towards the end of it, what a funky beat he produces! Damn!

Nice post

No doubt the kid's a prodigy. His footwork puts me to shame. His timing and attack were impeccable His handwork was a bit choppy.he's still a young boy, as he grows-- he'll have the tools to truly finesse his way around the rack. He's gonna be like the tiger woods of the drum world in 10 yrs. very cool. (jesus, i keep think about his footwork.) A+++++++++++

lol im gonna record my drummer doin a drum solo for u guys cuz this kid really is amazing for a 12 year old and thats about the extent of his amazement, and for whoever said i didnt know what im talkin about read my post it explains every detail of why hes not too amazing, the second clip of the old guy, he has more tallent, way more, and i like the hanging toms, its hard as fuck to hit those and keep the floor toms and snare stil worked in
