I don't care if you don't care, smoke a bowl for her and think happy thoughts.

How long has it been missing for? Cats have been known to disappear for months. Mine once disappeared for 5 months!

My cat doesn't go outside (We lost our last cat to a truck... the brave cat just went everywhere and it would happen eventually, I guess.) and when she ran out on us... she came back within a day. But your cat will find it's way back for sure... they always do, man. Don't sweat it, just hope for the best.

Gee thanks. I don't have any marijuana and its dark and an all black cat. But I appreciate your assholishness.
I looked until it got dark, put out treats, and asked all the people I saw if they'd seen a cat.
You should think before you post maybe.
Any my cat has got away before and came back, but never for more then 10 minutes or so. This time it's already been a few hours.~
I'm worried she won't make it out there. She's kind of fat and she was bottle fed because she was all sick at birth. Hopefully she does well. She always stared out the window. An apartment is too small for her. Hell, its too small for me.

we had a REALLY smart cat a couple years ago. she'd be out exploring all day and we'd call her once from the porch and she's come running from down the street because she knew it was bedtime and we'd lock the doors. unfortunately the neighbords dog killed her though :( .
anywhoo we have 2 more cats now, but they would keep us up all night having their long epic judo matches. when we started letting them outside (the neighbors and their dog are gone) they stopped fighting and scratching everything up. I guess it's just not natural for a cat to live its whole life in the house.

That's horrible, how old?
Just the other night, there was a story on the news of a cat that was blown away in a tornado and came back to the owner, two years later.

Only 3 years. :( i was putting her in the car to take her to my hometown with me, but she hates car rides and jumped out with cat like reflexes before I could grab her. I chased her until she crawled between a fence. She's never been outside around here, only in galesburg, a MUCH smaller town. Im gonna go look for her now and then get on the road.
I don't think she liked it much being couped up all the time anyway. She's a cat. It makes me sad, but I wouldn't be able to have her in a few months anyway, and she'd go back to getting harassed by my mom's weiner dogs for 3 years until I could get her back. So maybe this is what she wanted. That's what I'm hoping anyway. It's kind of dumb the way I think of my cat at a fully thinking being, but I hang out with her like 22 hours a day, so it's kind of hard not to.
She always comes to shaking treats and to clicking my tongue, but she didn't this time. It's a big world, she knows its out there, and shes never seen it except out a window is the way I think of it. That's kind of like torture, even if she is sort of a fish out of water there.
I'm leaving out food and water for her in the alley she crawled into just in case. I figure it can't hurt, I don't need them anymore. I left a note with one of my friends from my apartment complex asking her to grab her if she sees her and some stuff.
see you guys thanks for the positive thoughts, im trying to hold onto the hope of her coming back, but its hard because she's not an outside cat or anything and im leaving for a week in 20 or so minutes. The weather is getting warmer and there are lots of stray cats around here so hopefully she makes some friends and picks up some instinct from them if she doesn't come back.
I'm praying for her and I don't pray. I figure that can't hurt either.
Edit: the food chain sucks, happy thoughts only kthx.

Aww I feel your pain. I once had to kittins Tiger and Tromso. Tiger ran away first, or the Gypsy dog got him. Right savage beasts. Needless to say the pikey' werent around for much longer! And then exactly a year later Tromso ran away. How strange! Double the heartbreak. I reckon it was a pact to run away as they were brothers. Man i miss those boys. Tromso used to have cheesy feet! Never known a cat to have cheesy paws, bless him! I still see him about, he looks well fed but is now really timid. So here, my next joint is to all the stray cats may they find their way home!
Peace

If she doesn't come back, it is because someone else found her and decided to keep her. My friend lost her cat, but found out 6 months later the cat had just moved three apartments over.

This is plausible. After all, she's really accustomed to humans and shes probably fluffy. Cats are smart and resourceful...not to mention manipulative. I'm sure she simply wormed her way into another home.
Was she sterilized? Horny cats will freaking RUN...once we forgot to fix our cat and he ran away. Two years later I heard a sound in the underbrush...i charmed the cat with my pyshic charmisa and it came out of the woods and it was our old cat...walked right up to me and began the purrs..except he was missing an eye. Really he turned into a horrible beast.. Later on there was a hurricane and we never saw him again.
But your cat is better than that. So you see, Im sure shes still caught in this dimension. If not...then maybe she will be reborn into your life. It's all good.

Sorry about the cat...My cat went missing 2 years ago...it sucks cause I don't even know what happened to him...We spent over 2 months looking for him and couldn't even find a body :(. We think someone ran him over and threw him into the ocean. There was this guy who comes home so often and he gets his kicks from running over cats and dogs. We think he may have done it. He don't even care if anyways around. He tryed to run over my friends cat right in front of us only by her house. People are such assholes...I miss Ozzie...
good luck finding your cat dude :)
i too am a big cat lover...my cat ran away once and came back three days later, perfectly fine...but hungry.
Hope it does return to you :):)

Before I brought home the cat I have now, she was living in a cardboard box with the last of her kittens, and when the last kitten was ran over by a car, "Janie Neilpearta" disappeared for three days.

I wish I had seen this thread when it happened. :(
You can go down to your vet's office and ask to borrow a humane cage. You put food in and when the cat goes in to eat the door closes. It's very simple. Of course depending on your area you might catch cats you don't want but they are easy enough to let go.
Once we "rescued" a stray it got loose in the garage, found a hole in the wall, and escaped into the walls. We were able to catch it pretty quickly using the cage. If she's hanging around your house, which is a very good possibility, this might do the trick.

Sorry about your cat. My family and I adopted Lucy, a solid white stray that we fed and loved. She stayed on our porch swing. Then one day, she disappeared. I guess that's the trouble with adopting strays...I want an indoor kitty but the husband says no...sigh...

can you use that power to find herb?
It's ok cats have penty of instincts to survive, just think of it as having the descendent of a barely controllable wild killing machine with millions more years of evolution than us living in your own house.

Aw. My cat was stuck in my neighbour's garage for about a month and is still alive, if a little bit nervous :)

Did you find her in the end?
Even if you didn't, hopefully she's still alive out there, living out her happy little kitty life. :o
I don't let my cats out of the flat, cause the two roads in front of the flat are two of the busiest in the city. I don't wanna squished kitty. If I lived in a quieter area then I'd let them out. They don't like being cooped up in the flat all the time, so we have to play with them loads to try and keep them entertained. It'd have to be an area that was quiet in regard to both traffic and people though; too many nasty stories of people finding a roaming cat and doing nasty things to it. :( Mine are so friendly they'd probably walk up to anyone and start purring, no idea that some people can be mean.

No, she came back on her own. I didn't know she was gone, the guy who was taking care of her told me.

Just thought I'd update this thread, no sign of my cat at all. I think she's gone. It happens I guess. I was really sad about it, but things pass and she wouldn't have ran away if its not what she wanted.

Don't give up ADaisyChain!
My cat went missing for about three days---tore me too pieces! I went out day in and day out looking out my door and walking down the street (my cat cut thru a fence too). But I think the spirit to my late cat Jeffro lead him home....that and a local alley cat (think it was his lil' girlfriend! LOL
Believe me...when he/she is ready they'll head home....like somebody said cats are natural survivors. Me and my cats are prayin' for a safe return!

Yeah, I put out her food and water things but she doesn't visit 'em. I also put out her tin of treats right in front of my building and those look untouched too. I keep an eye out when I drive down the alley she got out in, plus I've been looking at the nebraska humane society webpage (they post pics of the cats they find) but no luck. I'm not completely giving up, but I'm not getting all worked up over it anymore. I miss her and all, but its not worth constantly hurting my brain with it. She's a cat, she'll do fine out there. Hopefully she comes back, but if she doesn't then she doesn't.
gnight
