View Full Version : kife
I understand kife is from the trimmings of the cannabis plant. Would this include any male plants? Would this include all healthy female leaves? I understand the flowers are what contain the most trichromes.
What happens when a female is fertilized and produces seeds. Does this decrease the THC content?
Why are the males tossed? Is there any use for them? I've read about hermies.
Can a male be turned into a hermie? Or just a female?

OK brother lemme shed some light. Males don't produce THC...none. The females use THC as a defense mecahnism. What happens is, when it starts to flower it produces THC on all the female organs (the buds) so that if an animal eats a little of it, after its high, it'll decide "I don't want anymore of that plant". The female plant stops producing THC in the buds that have been fertilized. So if you fertilize a female, that area will not be as potent as non fertilized areas. I say areas because you can pollinate only certain areas of the plant so that you still get potent bud out of it.
Males are used only for pollinated females for the purpose of seeds. This can be due to wanting to cross two strains, wanting to keep a certain strain alive, etc. Other than that, males are pointless to have. I don't believe a male can turn hermie.
Other than that, I have no idea what kife is so I'll just leave you with that info. Hope this helps.

I believe 'kife' or as I would spell it 'kiff' is dry, broken off material from poorly manicured buds. You would usually find some kiff in the bottom of most large bags of bud.

Seems to me. Years ago and I might be wrong but I thought kif was the pollen from the male plants made into hash. Reading High Times 20 years ago when I was much younger. That's why we don't see it, hard to collect. Can one of the big guy's give any info. I know tric's have the most THC but it is in the plant all over and males are used for hash. I could be wrong but would like to know where I can do my home work and read up on it. Look I'm getting older and still doing home work, Dam.
I 've seen videos of people taking their trimmings, freezing them and drying them. They put the trimmings on silk screens and sift. Trichromes fall through the fine screen Then they make hash. Do all trimmings except roots and stems work? So if I get a male plant should I use it for trimmings? Fascinating.
