Hey all, trying to get nice results on a budget, first timers. Been reading alot and have seen tons of different types of lights. My friend has a large space and will be doing quite a few 10+ I was wondering about those blue tipped grow lights at home depot there only 180watt bulbs, could a few of those be used? Or does it not work that way?

You can try them...If it projects the blue spectrum of light it should be good. But 180watts on 10+ plants wont work...Buy like 4 of the blue tipped ones and then get 4 of the full spectrum compact spiral fluros. Ya might have to get more fixtures obviously..Now if you want to spend a little more money, go buy some good HPS lights. Mixing lights is ok too..In some cases its pointless, but it doesnt hurt..

Ah cool, yeah i was wondering about mixing lights too. Maybe these would be better for starting with the sproutings. Maybe I'll get a couple of these 180watts for the sides and a 400+watt for the middle, Anyones seen something good on ebay from a reliable seller? I saw a 1000watt setup for like 120
