Invitations

So.. i have some people i'd like to get on this forum.. they use medicinal marijuana and whatnot and often come to me for suggestions,opinions..or just general information. I'm now in search of an "Invitation" option where i can invite people via email with a general message like "You have been invited to join the cannabis.com forums by yadayadayada.."

I seek this feature! :confused:

P.s. In this email it would link the registration page for these forums...

Yes, you're right i suppose.. but I've seen forums to have this feature..i know it's not impossible.

Copy and pasting the link will work i guess.. obviously. But this is more a suggestion than anything else..

i'd LIKE to be able to invite people via a website sent email with a simple generic message inviting people to join the forum

If Ron wanted to he could plug this existing hack in right now. :) Yesterday alone I put like 5 modifications on my site. The thing is a lot of people wouldn't use the invitation form to email their friends probably, but I guess that's not a big deal. :)

Firstly, a referral link (the feature is built-into the board already; just a matter of tweaking it a bit) is something that's been in the works for awhile.

Email invitations, while a good suggestion, can be abused - that is why we don't have anything like that setup here - not saying we never will, but for now, it's something we're holding off on.
