There's a documentary coming up on Channel 4 called 'The root of all evil'.

Hosted by British Humanist Association vice-president Richard Dawkins, I was delighted to read about this programme, which delves deep into the one theory I am 100% sure of in this world: religion is the root of all evil.

The air dates are 8-9pm tonight and 8-9pm on the 16th of January.

Hanne Stinson, Executive Director of the BHA says: ??Richard Dawkins is always a stimulating speaker, and a very popular one amongst humanists. He is also often very challenging, even to some humanists. I think most humanists believe that religion, particularly of the fundamentalist variety, is a source of some evils, but not all, and I look forward to hearing his conclusions.?

All I can say is thank fuck someone on TV is making a lick of sense for once. Can't wait to watch it.

Basher out.

No station in the United States would have the balls to show that program, due to pressure from the religious lobbies.

There was a 1994 British documentary about Mother Teresa, called Hell??s Angel, and I don??t recall that it was ever shown in the U.S. Journalist Chrisopher Hitchins co-produced it. He also wrote a book about her, which I have, called The Missionary Position: Mother Teresa in Theory and Practice

Fuckin' missed it, had to go meet my girlfriend.

Maybe they'll play it on BBC USA or whatever it's called, unless they wouldn't dare as mentioned :D .

I agree religion can be a pain in the ass, but at the root of religiosity is the true root of all evil...people. Humans are arrogant, selfish, self important and just plain nasty when they want to be. I'm no exception. When my wife and I went for counciling a few years back, we had to take the MMPI or Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory...a standard questionaire that is used by shrinks the world over....shrink said my test indicated that i have a huge ego.
