what sort of setup/lights would be needed to grow around 18oz+ per month
i would be growing indoors, preferably northern lights strain as i already have some of these on the go and would just take cuttings. they would all be grown in pots and a drip freeding system.
any ideas on the number of plants?
the system to use, thinking sog or scrog
lighting needs?
any info would be gratefull

Bingo.

Especially the amount you're talking here. That's a pound a month! That's a lot of herb to process.

Raed read and read some more. Read the FAQ's here, go here, at the top of the page, at the FAQ:

www.overgrow.com

Learn the basics and good luck! Growing isn't like taking a shit, it takes time.

Pretty easy to figure though. Based on a flower time of 2 months, and an average yield of 2oz/plant, gives 8 plants per month, or 16 plants per flower period. Then add in a few more plants to be safe..lets just call it 20 plants, or 10 per month (all based on yield estimate).

To keep up that level of production, you'll have to have clones, in at least 2 stages (new clones, vegetative growth), plus a flower room or two.

You could have the flower room always running, using time-staggered crops. This would require several lights since height will be different between the staggered plants. Or you could have 2 flower rooms. Probably other ways as well.

For hardware, you're looking at 1000W lights, exhaust, filtration, light mover. And probably hydro rather than soil, for speed. You'll also have to have a secured location. You'll also be running through alot of supplies...nutes, bulbs, water, rockwool, etc. Have to make sure you can get supplies when you need them, and stock up in advance.

Damnn 18oz a month. Yea I would probably say alot of clones and alot of space which means alot of lighting haha. Anyway just be careful when your selling such big quantities. Also watch the electric bill cause thats a good way of getting caught once your big

ye, do a sog method with the perpetual harvest and you will get a harvest every 30 days. get 'the cannabis grow bible' by greg green, you can buy it on the internet. There you will get a basic knowledge of growing. Do some practice grows before you try anything like 18 oz per month, but a 1000 watt HPS and a 600 watt MH would be a good purchase as you want to grow a lot. After reading the book look up sog on the internet, with a grow of this scale you would have to do a lot of research. If you have some knowledge of growing I still recomend you read this book, I only read it recently and I still learned a lot.

G/W/M Grams /watts/month
1000 watt bulb in 2 months produces 1000 grams Thats if you real good at it. I only got 4.86 average
I would say you would need a clone of 60 plants in a grow room with 6 banks of 4 bulb (4ft)
With a grow room with 2 1000 mh bulbs ,using hydro buckets 5 gallon and a 100 gallon supply tank.
Thats with a 60 day bloom type, plus given a 3 day turn around time. To pull , cut, hang , clean buckets, bleach buckets. Than put in pre sized of 30 in ready to bloom from the grow room.
Note you will be trimming for about 46-50 man hours.
Thats just a close guess.
Please note g/w/m is a standard to gauge you output of the light, and system. Note Tic on over grow has gotten 0.6 grams per watt average with a scrog system.
My system is automated with a average 63 day turn around. :D
