this movie is by far tarantinos WORST FILM EVER!
it took over an hour just to get to the gory parts, this movie draaaaaags forever! and once the gory parts were shown, i was like wtf? the new texas chainsaw massacre is a better horror movie than this crap was! but do not waste your money watching it, its horrible!

Damn. I was anticipating going to see it. What the fuck is it gonna take for these fuckers to come out with a good horror movie? God damn I mean I could watch the original night of the living dead and be more frightened then by any "horror" movie out today.
Caruso329
01-07-2006, 06:54 PM
Shit, I didn't even know it was a horror flick. I'll probably go see it anyway, since it is Tarantino, I like him. But more than likely when it comes out on dvd, since im a cheap ass bastard.
Alcoholic9
01-07-2006, 06:57 PM
It's written and directed by Eli Roth. Tarantino just "presented" it, whatever the hell that means.
RaoulDuke45
01-07-2006, 07:03 PM
tarantino is just the executive producer, he really didnt do much, if you like a movie with a lot of tits, then its a decent movie

I saw 'Hostel' last night and thought it was great. Yeah true, the beginning drags on a bit.... just a lot of pot-smoking (teehee!) and tons and tons of T 'n A if you're into that.. but when the scary shit starts happening it's fucking intense... the whole premise of the movie is CREEPY AS FUCK.. if you really like highly entertaining, gory horror movies then go see it.

NO I'm not! That film is GOOD, I don't care what anyone says. Atleast the acting is quality and the situations are beleivable.

Caruso329
01-07-2006, 09:38 PM
It would be cheaper to rent it.
And Tarantino also "presented" Hero, which just means he slapped his name on it so it would sell, I thought he wrote and directed Hostel, so it just dropped a notch in my book.

I went and saw it last night when I was very high  I wouldn't rent it or buy it. It wasnt bad, but not the greatest. Def. did like the pot smoking in it though! :smokin:

"Tarantino Presents" does not mean he created it.
I saw the uncut version of Hostel at the Toronto film festival last year, and Roth said that Tarantino just helped touch up the script.
Basically his name is on the movie to help it sell.

The new Dawn of the Dead is decent. I thought land of the dead was lame.
I'll try not to spoil the movie Hostel so all I'm going to say is it was not scary. All the guys were complete pussies. And I don't care how big he is if some dude tries to drag me into a room Im gonna break him in half.

i seen hostel yesterday and i vouch for the shit. sweetnhighz tarantino had nothing to do with it, he just presented it. the guy that directed high tension made hostel. movie was intense cuz i was high as fuck at the time. plot was good, movie didnt really drag on, it was short and to the point. so trust me, the movie buff, on this one. blaze up and go see it. you wont regret it.

Everyone has different tastes in movies, and we could sit here all night argueing who has the better opinion, but it would be a waste of time :)
I haven't seen it, and it looks gorey as hell, so I might check it out :D I enjoyed Saw II, not as much as the first one, but it was good.
Devils Rejects is a really good movie too. I like how they tossed in Southern Rock music with the killing scenes. It almost made the killing, okay.
Peace

i work at a movie theatre so i can see movies for free so i see quite a few.
and i can honestly say that this movie is a steaming pile of shit.
basicly, first 45 min = titties
2nd 45 min = gore
the acting IS FUCKING TERRIBLE
the only reason this movie is #1 for the weekend is because of "Quentin Tarantino Presents" and the fact that its so gorey.

I HATED The Matrix, with a fucking passion. I can't stand that make-no-sense nonsense that goes on and on and on and etc...
I liked Kill Bill though, not so much the second one, but I really enjoyed the first one. Only because I'm a HUGE fan Tarantino, but the second one seemed like an entire different movie to me.

I saw Hostel last night, and really, it doesn't live up to the hype at all. I didn't mind waiting for the gory parts, since the story was decent, but the gore was really disappointing. I've seens much more gory stuff... It's really nothing, but maybe it's because I've been de-sensitized :ccol:
Bottom line, don't go see it

I think you guys are being too hard on it. You've seen more gore in an R-rated film in a theater? Which one? You can't really compare it to the cult gore stuff because the MPAA draws a line at some point.
That being said, I though it was pretty disgusting and disturbing. The most visually disturbing thing I've seen on the big screen. I'd read this thread before I saw it actually so I was prepared for the story to be slow but it wasn't. I felt like I got my moneys worth.
