I've had a couple of friends who were kicked out of the Navy for smoking Herb. I'm not sure if they tested positive for anything else. They've moved back home.

Being drug-TESTED by the military is TOTALLY different from the various types of drug SCREENING being discussed on this board, such as pre-employment screenings, etc. The military does not use cheap drug screens like civilian employers. They actually test your urine for drugs, and can detect THC down to a molecular level. To give you a point of reference on how sensitive military drug tests are, imagine one drop of gasoline in a swimming pool full of water -- they can detect it. Any type of commercial detox agent you might purchase, or any home remedy you might use, or any contaminant you might put in your urine sample WILL be detected, and you will be court martialed, end up with a bad conduct discharge, and that record will stick with you for LIFE.

Worst case scenario: you are applying for a great job 20 years from now, they run your social security number for a routine background check, find your military record, and discover you were discharged for drug use. Bye bye job.

Furthermore, you have absolutely no privacy when providing the sample, so using synthetic urine, or using someone else's clean urine is totally out of the question. The person collecting the sample is required to kneel down, and actually watch the stream of urine coming out of your penis (or vagina) and into the collection cup, and that person (sometimes it's more than one person) is required to maintain eye contact with that collection cup until it's sealed, initialed, and transferred to a locked container. There is also a "chain of custody" form that will be completed for every sample, and every person (including you) who comes into contact with that sample will sign that form in front of another witness. This always holds up at court martial if you try to allege mishandling of your sample and/or try to say that someone else tampered with it.

If you're in the military... don't use drugs. It'll come back to haunt you for the rest of your life.

FISH.

Drug use in the military is like robbing banks. You might get away with it for a long time, but IF you get caught, the penalty is swift and severe, and lasts for a lifetime.

Not worth it all. When you're in the military, you don't have the same rights as civilians. Uncle Sam owns your ass and will do as he pleases.
