What Can I Do?

One of the most common, and frustrating questions asked of NORML is: "When are the marijuana laws going to change?!"

The answer is remarkably simple:

When you and all your like-minded friends and family members are actively educating and lobbying your elected officials to end marijuana prohibition.

Compared with the concerns of their voting constituents, elected officials and government agencies care far less about NORML's 32-year effort to reform marijuana laws. After all, elected officials, and the government agency administrators they appoint, derive their power from the will and consent of the voters.

Therefore, voters, like you, need to 1.) Stop electing politicians who increase the scope of marijuana prohibition and penalties therein, and 2.) Start electing politicians who favor marijuana law reform.

For far, far too long marijuana smokers and marijuana law reformers have remained politically invisible to their elected officials.

This must immediately change.

If it is your strong desire that marijuana laws need to change, stop cursing the darkness and light a candle. Even if you never make a much-needed financial donation to NORML, you're still empowered with the ability to play a major role in ending marijuana prohibition.

There are bigger problems than weed. People vote for the slimy pawn that will supposedly make a difference to their lives in a security/financial/educational/traditional sense. If you grow up voting for the one politician that favors weed above all else it doesn't say much for you as a person.

I disagree with that reasoning B

*Weed would ease the suffering of millions.
*Improve all branches of the arts.
*Education and technology would skyrocket.
*Hemp would save the earth herself!

This is easier said than done. And true legalization will never happen with Republicans in power. Then there's the sates that have decriminalized it to a certain extent. It's too bad that growing just about any quantity carries such heavy legal consequences though, while posession is less extreme. Seems to me that growing eliminates drug dealers and crime. Ah what a crappy country the USA is sometimes.

I pesonally think its going to end up being about money,That will untimatly change the canabis laws .sooner or later they will figure out how much money each state will bennifit from imposing high taxes on canabis and co=ops, slowly but surly each state will join the movement. San francisco has just started to impose high taxes on co-ops and they have the most co-ops in the united states,Lets see what happens there.I woul love to go all out and activly educate my community, but where do you start to educate a community full of people that have it embedded in their minds that marijane is badd badd badd, left over from some racist in the 30s who convinced them of it,becouse of his own political agenda... Some one tell me???? and i will do it!!!

You can fall in love with Marijuana, and plant it where you want it to grow!
Freedom of choice!
As part of your religious rights in any country now part of the commonwealth!
And take the Punishment if caught deemed righteous for the crime of the century!
Planting a plant back into the soil, like God said to do...Stand behind your convictions!
Find more ways to have more people do it in secret, eventually everybody will end up in jail...thus no tax, and living free off the system!
If we fill the prisons with Marijuana/God and Jesus lovers...then the real criminals will be left alone outside looking in on us!
Free food, free lodgings, and benefits at their taxed hand...we are not allowed to vote in jail..so Jesus stays as Lord, God as king forever!
It seems the only way is to weigh down the system with more and more followers!
Eventually it will break down, as the cost will skyrocket out of control!
and they will come to their senses!...it is already an issue with them tax collectors!
Genesis 3:17 makes us helpers in the garden!
Acts 3:21 doing the work of restoration of God's garden, makes it worth while!
Acts 10:15 Not to second judge what God has made clean, or called Good!
Genesis 1:12 God calls the plants Good!...Thus he judged them, and blessed them!
God gave Noah every green plant and tree yielding fruit and seed for food!
Thus we should stop smoking it, and start eating it!
Much better for the brain, and the lungs!
Remember, "fight the good fight!"
