Hello friends,
I'm about to wire in some X10 timers I received. I've got some doubts as to the electrical stuff.

Can somebody please help me out? I want to make sure I don't burn my self to the ground.

Please check post #297 @ http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?p=546400&posted=1#post546400
I've got pictures of the timer and the instructions uploaded there... I'd really appreciate it if you could post your comments/suggestions/instructions over on that thread.

Thanks a million,

BTW: I know there are many people here that can help, but it'd be great if LateWood could help me out. ;)

well I havent wired an x10 timer before but since you are getting started with x10 you should do a search for hal2000 home automation. It is software that runs on your pc with some really cool features. It is about $300 I think. But it can controll evreything from lighting to co2 to hydo pumps ect....

Hey harmonic,
Thanks for the reply.
I ordered an X10 controller that you can connect to you computer with a USB cable... load up your programs (macros they call them) and disconnect your computer.
The controller has a built-in battery, so even if the power goes out, the controller stays with the correct time and all its macros.
But I'll look into the hal2000... thanks :)

The "neutral is shared" really helped. And the "blue is switched power OUT" reaaaaallllyyyyy helped. :)
Thank you Zandor, thank you very much.

Before you use the x-10 timers Check to see who else is using x-10 on you phase of power. Remember your power is also fed to many houses. Also you will need to put a filter on the incoming line, and other places. Hid and florsents, the refridge, motors, and any thing with a cap, will trip the x-10 signal. Us a relay74 on cheep computer and always have control They range between 29-70 bucks. I have a 70 buck unit that is done right. I also use the internal relay cards. But only have 20 + years of using them and love it.
You can use the x-10 to look like Lego blocks
