I read another article in the newspaper today about a town in Holland called Maastrict passing a new law that says that coffee shops cant sell weed to people that arent a Dutch Citizen.
When will they realise that if 1 place makes cannabis legal or downgrades then people will go there and they will have problems due to the amount of people that go there to smoke weed?
Another case is Brixton in London downgrading cannabis before the rest of the UK. They are now getting problems because there are is a big increase in people going to Brixton because it cannabis is treating different.
Now Maastrict and Brixton are having problems with the number of people going to these places. The problems are a higher number of drug dealers that sell harder drugs and increase in crime because of the more people that are there now compared with before cannabis was downgraded or legalised.
The obvious solution is to make cannabis use a more serious crime or stop people from other places being able to buy cannabis. But people dont seem to realise if the whole of the UK acted like Brixton then this would stop the increase in crime and hard drug use in Brixton. I know in the whole of England has downgraded cannabis to a Class C drug but Brixton still has a leaner view on procecuting people found to be in possesion of cannabis.
If it were legal everywhere in the Uk then there would be no problems with harder drug use and crime because the use of cannabis would be widespread and not just concentrated in one place.
