Life can mean any sentence long enough to consider the best time of human life gone when the convict is released OR they'll rot in jail until they die. 32 years is a pretty possible sentence because judges get to decide the amount of time in jail and this guy must think 32 yrs is exactly enough.

and btw, he didn't say whether he is innocent or guilty, so don't jump all over him.
