Cover all but one of the holes and fill it halfway with rubbing alcohol. Add 1/4 salt. Cover the remaining hole. It may be tricky to hold this way so make sure you have a good grip. Now shake the crap out of it. As the mixture stops cleaning as well let it drain out, rinse with warm water, and repeat. It usually only takes 2 or 3 times. When it's completely clean rinse very well with warm water and enjoy :)

I usually just boil my pipes to clear the resin build up, never tried anything else

i let my soak in a small amount of rubbing alcohol and then run hot water through it. Works great and keeps every hit as tastey as it was meant to be.

i usually let my resin build up to a massive amount, then scrape it, smoke. then boil it.

i used to scrape my pieces with a surgeon's skill, laboring over getting all of it out. the resin used to get me blistered but now it makes my head hurt and i don't pursue that avenue anymore. tastes nasty as well. i even had a set of bowl cleaners that i fabricated from coat hanger wire and guitar strings that were in my bong case (makita drill case butchered into a "happy" case) in the bit storage area. got stolen out of my car by a friend who was notorious for stealing your pipe or water bong just so he could scrape it. jeez, that was fifteen years ago! good heavens.

not good.
boiling causes weak points in glass peices, causing breakage

I don't even know when I'm supposed to clean my bowl. It's the only piece of my homemade pieces that gets used every time, so eventually it's going to get cleaned. I just hope I don't fuck it up :stoned:
