Heroin OD.

So, I've gotten a lot of shit about this, but, heres the story:

My boyfriend passed away last month of what was said to be a "heroin OD", and I've had a lot of people say that the shit can't kill ya. (Well, ya fuckers coulda prooved me wrong). I've heard that snorting H gives ya a pretty big risk, and that's what he'd done.
Further investigations are leading up rumors that the shit was laced, but I stick with blunts and bowls so I'm not real big on the harder drugs, so sorry if this is sounding completely idiotic. He did have some medical problems, techicardyia, for one, but after being addicted to crack for 6 months and blowing lines at least 4 times a week it didn't seem to be doing shit to affect that..
His mom said she was able to hear him breathing loud all night, which was strange in that case because he was usually a sound sleeper. She figured it was just conjestion.

Basically, I'm seeing if anyone would know what factors lead to his death, and why his second time doing this shit ended up being his last. What does Heroin hit and affect that led to this?
If anyone can just put in some facts or opinions here, it would be appreciated, thanks.

If it was laced then the heroin probably didn't do much, if you can find out what it was laced with and do a google search.

More to the point of your question on what does heroin hit... Heroin is like the opposite of cocaine, heroin slows down the bodys functions.

snorting H is one of the most dangerous ways of doing it.Wether it was laced or not.The results of the toxicology report should tell more.H is cut down wit so much shit u jus dont know wat the fuck will happen.Sorry for your loss my prayers are with you and his family.

I really have to wonder how isolated from reality anyone must be to not know that certain drugs can fuck you up first go never mind second time, the reality is that some drugs taken in large enough amounts will always lead to certain death.
I've lost friends and people close to me to alchohol ,smack, you name it and someone will be stupid enough to ignore the risks,I've taken my own chances in the past .
I've come to realise that sometimes the old folk know what they are talking about when they warn the younger generation about the dangers of certain things, unfortunately it looks like todays generation are destined to do the same as we did and learn the hard way.Thats life!
I may come off as a hardcase but I do sympathise with anyone who loses someone it just seems so fucked up that it has to be that way before some folk wake up.

^^^ As am I. Yes, you can OD on herion. It is far more dangerous than anything it is likely to be cut with. Herion purity varies greatly, making it difficult to judge dose.

Rather it is cut differently everywhere. Some people may just cut with some talc, flour or powdered sugar while others use more toxic substances such as synthetic opioids like fentanyl. The dealer you got it froms supplier probably wouldn't be able to tell you what else besides heroin is in the bag.

i love opiates... and the most common things dealers cut it with where i live is vitamins, baking powder, etc. if youve done heroin enough times to be able to compare them... youde know from the first sniff if anything different then heroin was in the bag in significant amts. heroin should go in your nose smooth and tasteless.. then when you get drip it should be a sharp chemical taste in the back of your throat that can easily be overpowerd by water. heroin is hard to overdose from if your snorting it because you wouldnt snort everything you had in one big line.. and it kicks in relativly fast so you should be able to control how much you do. to those of you who said snorting it is the most dangerous way, your idiots. if you mainline theres no way to tell the potency untill its too late. anyway, i think heroin has a really bad rep.. i wouldnt say its any worse then coke.... i tihnk most people think its the most dangerous drug cause the first thing that comes to mind when someone hears the word is a bloody needle, and heroin is usually snorted these days.

im sorry for your loss, heroin might have been the casue... Tachycardia is when the heard beats abnormally fast. and heroin and other opiates slow down the beating of the heart and the breathing rate of the lungs.. he could have died because his heart wasnt used to beating that slow..
