Day light and flowering

i have always grown indoors but this spring i'm coming out to the great outdoors. i know that 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flower indoors but at what point does the flowering stage start out doors. i know it is not 12/12 because i live in southern new england and if that was the case the frost would kill every thing. basiclly i want to know when i should start looking for males judging by the ammount of day light hours. any help would be great.

:) Well redeye, welcome. First of all i hope that you have done your homework on the particular species you are growing. Secondly, we have a thing called the equinox and if you look into an atlas you'll most likely learn it's cycles. In the beginning of summer, the days are longer and as it progresses it get' shorter. Your assignment(if you choose to accept it) :) is to time it (the flowering) when this takes place.(days start to get shorter) And as for the males, you'll see the nodes after about a week or two of flowering snatch immediatel. Females have the pistils, DON'T TOUCH for eight or nine weeks then harvest, cure, season and toke..
