Hey man, I read your post a while back, and was wondering if you'd mind talkin' with me a bit about your ayahuasca experiences... Is the vomiting inevitable?
Peace

Hi! Hope you're good.
Yes, I did Ayahuasca about hmmm....6months ago now I'm guessing...and yes, the vomit is uncontrollable, it happens...it is part of "cleansing the soul" they say.
The drink itself was very foul tasting. Imagine burnt grapefruit mixed with cigg. butts...horrible stuff, thick drink. I choked her down and about 15min later I could feel the first waves of paranoia sitting in. First it was like, waves of sound, like I could see sound moving, then I was seeing past memories flashing before my eyes. I saw bloodied bodies, an open heart pumping, old friends, family...like, they were images, flashing before me, with every blink I saw a new image.
Thaings were like this for about 5min, non-stop flashing, sound, lights. Then I got kind of feeling sick to my stomach, and discustingly, I barfed in the toilet. It is normal to get sick, but is not violent vomiting, just a few goes and it's total bliss after...
After I got sick, I went to the fridge, got a glass of water. I hear a knock at my door, open it, and I see old childhood friends from grade school, relatives whom I have never met, from the past and future, and the one thing that horrified me the most...was my old friend who killed himself a few years earlier. To make a long story short, I was a terrible friend to him and I have always felt respoinsible for his doing. He placed his hand on my shoulder and said "rest easy friend, it wasn't your fault..." He smiled and he was gone...everyone was gone.
The trip lasted for about 4hrs and the day after I was done it, my heart and soul for once in many years, finally could rest at ease. It was an amazing time I had with it. The first 5min are the most intense as images of past times come back to haunt you, you vomit, "cleanse the soul", then it is about 4hrs of complete bliss, pure extacy, happiness, and conversations with things that aren't even there.
If you do do it, be careful and have a sitter. I had an expeirienced Aya. user with me who offered them to me as a medicine. Ever since then, I am off the anti-depressants and I only use Zyprexa every so often for my anxiety. You have some pain or problems bothering you mentally, do this and your life will change. Mine has so far and I'm going to make it a yearly event to cleanse my body.
Not a recreational drug either. Hope this helps ya out, peace :pimp:

Wow, Nochowder, that sounds so awesome man, your dead friend saying it wasn't your fault. No doubt extremely hard to find around here.

Ya, you're telling me! I don't know if he was really there at the time, but it isn't the first time I seen him on something.
Twice I have now! First time, was the Aya., and I smoked Salvia 10x about 2 weeks ago, and I saw his face again! He was smiling this time. Some drugs are just...wow....you know, whoa.

Wow... ok, I think I can handle the vomiting (I'm appraoching it a spiritual manner, so If it's all part of it then I'm sure I'll be able to handle it). Were you actually in movement when you were tripping? I am used to doing these things alone, I usually just lie down under some tucked sheets as not to break my head open LOL... but if you are actually in movement during the trips... might be a dif. story. Also were you terribly "afraid" at any point in the trip?

Salvia is also an entheogen I have done alone... again layed back under some tucked sheets as to not break my head, LOL... But the experiences are truly amazing... if you can consume the entire dose. And when I come out of the visions it's like awakening normally, In the comfort of my own bed... except for some reason the salvia makes me sweat like crazy.

That's where I'd get afraid: "I usually just lie down under some tucked sheets" I'd like to be out in the open, looking in mirrors and freaking out and stuff :) Not lie under my sheets hiding from the world.

That's just because no one I know truly understand my passion of psychoactive plants and their relation with the mind.. they view it as just another drug, and I know if I had my father sit me (which he probably would) he would most defintely not like it.

The first 5min, I was not in movement. I was glued to my chair and couldn't move...then....'WHAM.
After the unpleasantness, I was in movement in my home. I opened the door, and I was standing and talking to "people" the whole time. I was like, "whoa, haven't seen you since I ate dirt in sandbox, and whoa, you're like from, then 1800's man, what are you doing here" shit like that, you know
I wouldn't recommend going out exploring, as long as someone else is with you, whom is sober or not on the drug, as the trip isn't quite like that. It's more, spiritual, like you said.
Terribly afriad? Uhhh, YA! First 5minutes are hell. Read what I wrote again when I first posted, sound like fun? No, but it's all part of the healing process and cleaning process.
If you're looking for just a trip, eat some shrooms, do some acid. I can't imagine lying in bed on Aya., as most people don't use it to trip, and when they do, it's uaually not to much fun. Use it spiritually, as a mediicine for mental pain, but for recreational use...nah, no one should be asked to handle that trip under those conditions.
Anyways...my family is here now and I must go. Hope I helped some, Peace

Dude trust me I totally feel you on it not being recreational, I totally respect it the brew, it's purpose, and creators. Infact, with my order (syrian rue & mimosa hostilis + a few other ingredients) I added several books on shamanism and the art a ayahuasca so I could try to train myself a little bit before I dive into that shit... But I'll most definitely be moving correct? What if I were to remove any harmful objects from my room and lock the door... does it make you fall over and stuff? From what you described it sounds like a mushroom trip in the sense that you weren't freaked out by any of the entities you came in contact with... after the 5 minutes of absolute horror, that is.

Wow, sounds like you are well on your way on having a good time with it. It's good to do research as a lot of people don't, just dive in, and have a bad time with it.
I did a lot of reading on it's effects, then it's purpose, a little bit of history, then I happened to stay in touch with a Brazilian man whom I use to work with, he gave it me, was a sitter for me, and told me I could try this medicine as prescription drugs are damaging, expensive, and only work for so long before the body gets immune to them, and addicted to them.
No falling over, but sit down when you are drinking it as you will feel major couchlock (eg. numbness of the legs) and you may fall over. Keep a bucket near by for incase of vomit. Vomit will most likely come within the first 20min of drinking it, anything after that, nervous sytem will be fine but be prepared to see things. First 5min are really intense, but is an experience all on it's own, and what comes after that, is worth the paranioa. That's why you should have a sober sitter with you. You may never know what you may do to stop the intensity.
Every trip report I have read about Aya., everyone has had an encounter with some person or persons or beings, that are suppose to, lets say...ease you of your troubles, or as the tribes people say, "cleanse your soul." A rebirth perhaps.
I read one report of a person, where, while on Aya., they experienced birth. Coming out of the womb, being born, everything! Imagine that man, that would trip me the fuck out. :stoned:
It's nothing like a mushroom trip, it's in a league all on it's own. During the first 5min of horror, imagine being paralyzed, or, imagine your whole body being asleep, like that tingly numb feeling you get in your arm or leg sometimes, imagine not being able to move, but every blink you take, or everytime you close your eyes, a bright image, disturbing images, flash like a strobe light. So everytime you blink, it's a strobe...on, off, on, off...over and over and over, like a never ending cycle...then, it stops. You are safe, no more images, but then BARF!
After the barfing, it is bliss, heaven for a good 3hrs or so.

I'm sorry but what exactly do you mean by bliss? I'm not quite sure I understand... Ok so, what your saying is that, you should have a sitter with you durng the scary part just in case... What I'm trying to say is, would it be viable to have someone sit with me until the horror ended, then have them exit so I can focus on the 'blissful' part of the vision?

Shamans have different preperation methods for ayahuasca depending on the region... Mine is a south american recipe composed of mimosa hostilis bark, peganam harmala seeds and the juice of a lemon. Then it involves hours of boiling, etc plus some fresh tobacco.

The definition of bliss, from google:
bliss (blĭs)
n.
-Extreme happiness; ecstasy.
-The ecstasy of salvation; spiritual joy.
phrasal verb:
bliss out Slang.
-To go into a state of ecstasy.
I mean, happiness, pure joy, like the way you felt on X-mas morning when you were 8, not a care in the world.
A sitter is a good idea, just to keep you level headed. You don't have to have someone there with in the room, or beside you while you do it, just make sure they are in the same house as you, or near enough so they can hear you. You don't need someone holding you hand, ya know? Just so if things get a little sideways, someone is there to keep you calm, in the house, or nearby. Know what I'm saying?

Hmmm. sounds interesting. Mine was made with fresh tobacco too. I'm guessing lemon as well, as it tasted like a citrus, ciggarette butt smoothie.

Got it. Thanks alot seriously man, you've helped me feel a hell of a lot more open to it... lord knows you can go messing around with an ancient psycoactive potion if you're frightened of what it might do... But I really need some guidance in my life right now, you know what I mean.
