i have a 4'x7'x8'tall room with a 1000hps and a vertical 400 metal halide...my 1000w is about 4'above the tops and the 400 is just a little under...i have the room totally sealed off with a 465cfm cage fan for my fresh air intake and a 265cfm for exhaust...one thing is that my intake is 17' of hard pipe not the flimsy stuff...i have 8 plants in 18/6 veg...my PH is a constnt 6.5 and i barely give fert until bud so i have barely given any yet and when i did i use miricle grow 20-20-20...i have 1 oscilating fan on constantly giving them a gentle breeze...my problem is i cannot keep the room at a constant 72...it isually goes from 72-79....but sinse the warm weather it is 79-84i am totally worried now what do i do when it comes to the summer ????not to mention RIGHTNOW....i have it on a manual thermostat not a digital one but how do i cool it??? is the run of ducting the problem???i wish i had pics but i dont.....my intake is about 1' off the ground and the exhaust is on the opposite side of the room which the plants are also on in the top corner near the light to get some hot air i hoped...is a 1000hps just too big??? i do have a cool tube but i do not know the exact size fan to run with it any suggestios would be so appreciated as my babies are starting to wilt..wish my baby's luck in the new year they are looking like they will need it....

your safe untill it gets higher than 85. If youve got the money, you could get an air conditioner.

hi Soon,

Your temp is fine...... 77 is perfect !!!
What you need to do is get your HPS closer to the tops of your plants... Your buds will seriously increase in size.. more than double, if you can get the HPS to within 12 inches or less of your canopy. 4 feet is way to FAR..

It sounds like you have a nice system with plenty of fans and air flow...

I just had a little tid bit of advice to pass on. You mentioned that your intake fan was a lot bigger then your exhaust. This will result in the room being slightly pressurized. If the fans were reversed the room would be in a slight vacuum. This means that any leaks would cause air to rush into the room and not out of the room. This is a great practice for people with worries about odor control. Also whenever you open the door to the room, air would rush inside instead of out. This would also help on odor control.

As far as your temps, I think you'll be fine. The lights are a a bit too high. I tie a string to my reflector and attach a weight to the end of it. The string is exactly 18" long. This allows you to keep the light at a constant 18" from the tops of the plants.

In the summer months perhaps you could use a window air conditioner if youre worried about temps.

Hope some of this helps.

you should hook up the cool tube A.S.A.P. you need to check out Mellow Mans cool tube thread in the FAQs section and Turtle420 thread in the indoor closet growroom section I'm pretty sure the cool tube thing would help you out big time cause I'm have the same problem but all I need to do is make a few adjustments to my cool tube and I'll be fine I hope. ;) I dont know if you also said that your exhaust fan was at the top of the room because heat does rise so a good place for the exhaust would be at the top and intake at the bottom like you have

right on SativaGrowin...makes sense about the fans...funny how just a hint will open the doors to new ideas....how didnt i think of that??lol as far as the Cool Tube i did make one out of the pyrx barke a round as well but i am not sure if i have to hook a seperate fan up to it and Tee into the existing exhaust or can i run the rooms Exhaust through the cool tube?? i am not using Co2 yet so thats no problem....My exhaust is in the right upper corner right near the exhaust fan above the light....another thing with the cool tube with running a 1000Hps what sized fan would be a suggested to cool it adequetly with?? thanks for all the input so far guys....we gotta set up a northamerican Bud Bowel one day too see whos the best...still thinking up here in BC must still be decent compared to some no?? anyone have any ideas on that?
