Hey everyone!
We are a crew that is scattered around the globe and I got to wondering how different community members celebrate the holiday season.
Im a white Canadian so no secret what the holiday is for everyone in sight in my area.
So I figured I would start a thread for some of you who have unique cultural customs to share with us how you spend your holidays.
I dont have much to share about christmas. I dont celebrate it quite the same as everyone in my 'culture' ( lol, culture haha ) I have started to incorporate some christmas decoration again since i want my son to have that experience. We dont go all commercial, our family focuses on family.
If there are members of the family in need of anything to get them through the long cold winter then we traditionally provide for them. We celebrate the solstice and acknowledge and celebrate the changing of the seasons.
Im not partial to the 25th. It has gotten crazy and excessive and the magic is not in the mall or on the road travelling from one relative to the other. Magic is in the connection between the people you love and sharing a moment that is devoted to expressing this love. Moments like this live on forever.
I want to raise my son with many cultural experiences so that he can taste how other people celebrate, and live.
So...start sharin!
Here listen to this song, watch the vid, enjoy and watch it a couple more times.
