i am growing 4 plants of bubble gum (hopefully all females) ;)
i started two weeks ago they are alredy 3.5 inches tall with the fourth pair of leaves forming. I am growing under 3 tube fixture x 48 inches of fluorescent light 40W each tube. 2"daylights" and 1 "warm red" keeping them 2 inches above the plants
1 first question how deep should i go when re-poting. should i bury them up to the first set of leaves or keep them like they are right now, first set of leaves about 1.5 inch above the soil ?
2 will i need more light when they get bigger (i dont want them bigger then 36 inches) or when flowering?
thank's for answers
Hello P :) Well I don't know about the type of lights you are using, hopefully someone else can answer that for you ;)
It depends on the strain a bit but I always like to end up with plants about 36 inches (one metre) in height, so I always incuce flowering around 18 inches "give or take an inch".
As for re-potting I think if there standing ok by themselves then re-pot at the same level, that's what I would do anyway ;) .

yes bury them down to the first set of leaves, and use a 400w mh for your veg growth and a 400w hps for your flowering. make sure when you switch from your flo lights to a mh light you watch them everyday cause they will start to grow fast, if you want the 36 inches.

thank's for help guys
one more thing though
can i skip useing the MH and go right to HPS and leave my fluos with it?
and 250W HPS is enough for 4 plants or do i need 400W?

Hi,
My advice is you better go with a 400w hps and if your budget is limited, you could buy a 400w hps bulb with enhanced blue spectrum and finish a good 2 or 3 weeks of vegging time with that bulb on 18/6 light schedule. Then switch to 12/12 and watch the buds grow if they become females :D
Good Luck & Happy Growing!

Inside maybe a little slow but you will get it. It took a few more days for mine to get here but I planned ahead, so it didn't hurt. I got a 1000w the ballast is alittle noisy but works good. Don't forget the pic's, it give others something to compare to. the flouro's will help for side lights. Remember that you are only growing the top 1/3rd of the plants canopy without side lights.

the leaves stems grow up in a realy sharp angle almost like parralel to the main stem ,but one plant seems allright leaves stem growing out.
why is it? is anyone had a problem like this ?

Excessive heat will cause your plants to aim their leaves upward in some cases.

well i hung it 20 inches above the plants which are now about 4.5 inches high with the fifth set of leaves
is that high enough or they should be lowered?? or raised up ?
i've heard 24 inches above the plants is good but iam not sure
i have the fan blowing inbetween the plants and the light for cooling and air movement
hopefully some pics tomorrow

Hold your hand just above your plants and lower the light untill your hand gets hot. You can lower a little at a time. If you can hold your hand there for a minute and not burn then that's it. For every inch too far away wastes lights lumens and that is where the power is at.
