Today at 12:35PM EST it became Winter! Today is the shortest day (daylight hours) of the year. I think I read that you are supposed to light a candle and put it in a window tonight.

Didn't Winter start at the beginning of this month, and yeah 22nd December is always the longest day, lighter evenings from now on people!! :D

Well it's always the 22nd that's the longest, so BaseRSX is wrong, it's tomorrow that's the longest day :p lol.

Uh no, its today and its the shortest, not the longest.... June 21st is the longest day of the year...

Of course all of this ONLY applies to the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere today it is the LONGEST day and also the first day of summer.
