View Full Version : travelling through time
here's a fun thought. when books are written/published, the pages seal time. when television shows air, time is sealed within them. wouldn't it be crazy if we could use these seals to travel through time, like gumby did? now, with having no experience or knowledge about the space time continuum, tell me...could this be possible?

in astral projection, there is the corridore of time, where you can veview the past, and prepare for the future...
im pretty sure you cannot interact with either, astrally. but you can go and look (if you can project).
as for physically moving about in time, just wait a few years. might be a decade, might be less :D but in time, the three worlds will come together and intigrate their laws to make a more fitting world for humans...

I do not say it is possible to take your physical form and travel back in time. I don't think you can do that in mental forms either. Time travel is a myth to me. How can you reverse time? Besides, if you went back in time then the present (right now before you travel back) would be lost because it has not occured yet. If time travel was possible, why couldn't we travel forward in time? If you could travel forward then that would mean we have a pre-determined path in life and nothing is of our own free will.

I don't think we'll accomplish it, but you wouldn't be able to use a fabrication of modern society to accomplish it. Stories are not physical things.
This reminds me of that show where the girl could stop time whenever she wanted.

You know some physicists have a theory that time travel back in time will be restricted to the time when a functional time machine was invented. So at the very instant when a physicist turns on the worlds first time machine massages or possibly people from the future will start to arrive. I'm not sure about the reasoning or the physics behind this prediction but it seemed interesting when I saw it. I think it was on the science channel.
And for the record, I don't think time travel will be achieved by using old Leave it to Beaver shows.

Without written history there would be no sense of how long or what time these events happened, so I'd say that Ganj has a point there...
And in Astral Projection, MudFu, you're not moving back or fowards though time or anything, and time isn't at a stand still. It's just a transcendence of time... like on Salvia, people often get deja vu and I think it's possibly recalling things from your childhood... this is a transcendence of time because you are experiencing this time distortion without actually moving at all. And on other psychadelics, this time dilation people experience might just be your mind comprehending things outside of time... a minute could seem like a lifetime and the 4 hour trip can seem like less time then an episode of Seinfeld. It's why people get hung up in thought loops... it's why the years go fast and the days go slow... because time is an illusion. As someone here once said, (I think it was beachguy or something) time only exists because no one person can experience everything at once.

In an astral projection forum somone said that they had a vison of being some sort of time cop so that would make sence..time cops show up and lay down the law..cant get away with anything around here.

I guess, so. Do you remember what show I'm talking about?
It was the girl from the "My two Dad's" (or whatever) show, starring Paul Rheiner (maybe) from "Mad About You".
It was in the 80's.

LOL, if I tried to say that, it would have came out like, "The only reason something will happen is because it's not happening now."

Actually, that might have been what you had said. I don't recall...

when christopher reeve played superman, he flew around the earth so many times that it caused the earth to rotate backwards, thus making time go backwards and he saved lois lane from death.
well McCauley Caulkin has tried this and it doesnt work, when McCauley Caulkin flew around the earth backwards it just caused a huge tsunami

if time doesnt exist can time machines even exist? i believe it is possible but the way humans percieve time is completely different then what time really is. if a time machine existed it would most likely teleport you instantly. if people in the future have changed things in the past we could be living a alternated reality and not even know it.
i've been playing way too many video games lol. the japanese have a good point.

i think you might be talking about that show from the late 80's..."Out of this world" starring Maureen Flannigan as the chick Evie. on that show the chick was able to put her 2 index fingers together (i think thats how she did it, but its been awhile lol) to stop time, because her dad was an alien or something and she had powers.
is that the one you were thinkin of beachguy?
Here's a pic of the chick i googled her name to see if this is who you were talkin about (http://www.nndb.com/people/713/000079476/flannigan-1-sized.jpg)

u cant travel in time for sure. because what is time? time doesnt have a speed, nothing
even if u go 100x the light speed, u will never go "faster" than the time. it may take a 100000th of a second, there will still time that will have passed
wich means u cant travel faster than time to go in future
now, how could u get back in time? its alrdy gone. things happenned. its impossible to get back. i really dont think time can be modeled in any ways because time isnt something. time is just time lol

I'm sure we can get "Ziggy" to send us back to the past, as long as we changed what was once wronged. And then we'd get a sidekick, like Al.
