Iran leader: Holocaust a 'myth'

TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has described the Holocaust as "a myth" and suggested that Israel be moved to Europe, the United States, Canada or Alaska.

Germany, the United States, the European Commission and Israel condemned the remark, with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier calling it "shocking and unacceptable."

The Israeli government said Ahmadinejad's regime had "a distorted sense of reality."

Ahmadinejad sparked widespread international condemnation in October when he called for Israel to be "wiped off the map."

Last week he also expressed doubt about the killing by the Nazis of six million Jews during World War II, but Wednesday was the first occasion when he said in public that the Holocaust was a myth.

"They have invented a myth that Jews were massacred and place this above God, religions and the prophets," Ahmadinejad said in a speech to thousands of people in the Iranian city of Zahedan, according to a report on Wednesday from Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

"The West has given more significance to the myth of the genocide of the Jews, even more significant than God, religion, and the prophets," he said. "(It) deals very severely with those who deny this myth but does not do anything to those who deny God, religion, and the prophet."

"If you have burned the Jews, why don't you give a piece of Europe, the United States, Canada or Alaska to Israel," Ahmadinejad said.

I believe Iran is ready for an attack by U.S. or israel I mean with all the new weapons that Russia been giving Iran they should be ready, so why not provoke them even more maybe Iran knows that once attacked, Russia & China will get involved. .

Not including 30,000 nucleur weapons, obviously. It is possible to bomb iranian nucleur facilities, but then what? They would rebuild, disperse, and likely be way crazier than ever. The alterantive is to set back and hope internal poiltical change occurs. Neither option is all that good. Lack of good options? Sounds a little like NK.

I'm not surprised at what the Iranian prez says,but more so that he's saying it publicly..heck,they've pretty much got America's apologists and appeasers snookered,as well as their counter-parts in Europe..his public speeches are counter to the Koranic edict ,that muslims should lie in wait and decieve the infidels,until the moment to slay them-presents it's self.

That China and Russia,will align themselves with Iran and Syria,is exactly what Revelations predicts.

If several well-respected scientists can gather up enough courage to try and provide evidence and exhaustive testing, then I'd say it's safe to assume that the numbers of dead were grossly exaggerated.

You can't just show me some picture of some dead jews in a pit, and expect me to believe the popular arguement. You may as well post a picture of some muslims being arrested in order to justify racial profiling of all muslims under the guise of anti-terrorism.

Yes, the Holocust did happen, it was unbelievably tragic, and should never be forgotten.

And..Yes, it is shamefully used as propoganda to support Isreal and give us a strong ally in the Middle East. Just as George Bush shamefully used 9/11 as propoganda to go into Iraq. Don't beleive it? Yep, that's what really pisses me off so much about the way the holocaust is handled. The very fact that our government places so much importance on one and none on the other(not to mention the other atrocities committed around the world) is an insult to both. nope. Britain was Hitler's only major opposition and America wanted very badly to help them out.

Appeasement was the process in which Britain (under american advisement) just sat back and let Hitler do whatever he wanted.

By wanting a war, America is just as much to blame as Britain was for listening to them.
