I watched Man on Fire last night, but first, y'know it had to be done, I smoked up. So yeah, like when I watched Casino the night before, I couldn't concentrate on the film, then after every scene I'd have to try and remember what happened in the scene, of the bits I saw. So obviously I missed more of the film, then about half way through I fell asleep (I'm sure I did) and so now I haven't a fuckin' clue where I was in the film, shit! lol.
Somebody help me, I'll help you back in any way.

Fuck it, I found where I was at, no need for you now :)

Anyone want a new Boss? I employed myself! : :pimp:

Ya man, Man on Fire is an amazing movie! Don't read on if you don't want to know the whole story, but here it is:

I admit it though, when I was watching it, when he was connecting with the little girl and all, her giving him a chance to life again, it was kind of, ya...that's nice, but it was missing something...

About an hour into the film, the little girl gets kidnapped in Mexico, during all of the kidnappings, and when the family goes to pay the ransom, the kidnappers cousin gets killed in a gunfight, so they end up "killing" the little girl whom he had connected with.

Then the film gets good. The little girls mom asks, "so, what are you going to do?" Denzel says something like, "what I do best...I'm gonna kill em" "Kill em all" she says.

Revenge is a dish best served cold
From there, Denzels character goes on to kill everyone who was involved in this little girls "murder" and who knew everything about it. Cutting off cops fingers, burning them with a car lighter to stop the bleeding, sticking a bomb up a guys ass, blowing him to pieces, among other things. It's a movie that serves a harsh message in revenge.

In the end though is the kicker. Little girl turns out not to be dead. So in exchange, Denzel gives his life to the killers, for the little girls life.

Based ona true story as well. I found it touching, with a nice lesson in revenge.

So ya, that's the whole story in a nutshell.

Oh ya! And the little girls dad, played by Marc Anthony, he was the one behind the kidnapping, and he ends up shooting himself in the head after he finds out his daughter is dead...which she never was.

Yeah, I watched the rest of Man on Fire last night, I hate endings like that, he could have run away, risk getting shot, I mean (I think I remember this, but I smoked up again before watching it haha) he just let the kinappers take him, for the release of the girl. Personally when the girl started running to her Mom, I'd have told them to start driving off (in case the people shot at them) and just tried to run to the car, him getting shot wouldn't be too bad, as he all ready took a round to the chest (IIRC) and didn't do anything about it.

Sad ending, but he had a smile on his face as he closed his eyes, knowing the girl was ok :)

It was a sad ending, but if you remeber earlier in the movie, he tried shooting himself in the head, but the bullet didn't discharge. So at the end, I think he wanted to die, and if he ran, yes, he would have been shot, but the mother and daughter could have been in risk getting shot as well, or being found again.

He did the right thing in the movie just going with them. He knew he was dying, so I figured, hell, he'll die anyways, then there won't be any exchange for life for life, just the girls life back, and Denzels life was gone before the kidnappers could take it, probably very painfully take it.

Anyways, good movie  I loved it.
