I think it would be a great idea to have an over thirty forum ...and when I mentioned it on another thread there was alot of interest. reply here and mabe we can get one going. I am sure many of the replies I get will be the juvenile bullshit that proves the need for such a forum. :pimp:

A good idea. It would be great to have somewhere I am underage for :D seriously I'm 28. I miss there not being any landmarks anymore :)

Think it a real good idea. Have been away for about 6 months and got back and most of old crowed not longer on. Lot of younger peaple with fresh new ideas but also a lot bull. Do not want to stop some one from expressing them selves but at same time like to have a sensible conversation.

Different ideas are not wrong just different

That would be the ticket for quite a few of us. Not cutting on the 'kids', but adult conversation would be wonderful. Let us know, I'll be one of the first ones there! :twocents:

I think you would miss out on a lot of knowledge by us youngsters ;)
But does age need to be dragged into this? I can fully understand you have the need to parttake in a conversation that actually has relevant content. I feel that urge very strongly now too, after joining Cannabis.com some month ago. Yet I do think some of the -30 members whose intellect very clearly sticks out, and do not use profanities or cliche's or just plain bullshit to fill their thread, have some answers or suggestions to life's questions.
One of the most beautiful things on Earth is the interaction between young and old, and the effects such a relation has on the middle part.
So, don't let the eager-to-learn young rascals like myself miss out on the great info that such a +30 thread would supply. Maybe you should open a part of the forum that clearly marks: "no bullshit, just constructive talk about the tougher parts of life."
But hey, as i'm obliged to do on this forum apparently, this is just a nice comment ;) i'm not attacking, insulting or feeling raped.
But the only reason i'd apply a downright age-limit is a legal one.
Have a good one, old yeller bellies :p
Peace!

I can actually agree with this one... there was one here a while that said there should be an over 18 forum and thats just stupid.

one yr diff dont mean shit. i know people who are 24 who still act like 3 yr old brats. but 30 yrs old is a diff thing.

No offense to the youngsters...hell we were ALL in high school at some point.

It's just the immature blabbering and wasteful posts that kinda get on my nerves a little bit.

Sometimes I feel like the threads turn into a high school cafeteria scene.

Not to say that people over thirty are SO mature..shit..we're here on cannabis.com. and we are totally capable of immature blabbering ourselves sometimes.

And honestly we're all bound by the love of the herb.

BUT I see threads turning into online flirt fests and petty bickering and stuff which is kinda lame.

I'm all for the disgruntled young intellectuals posting too.

I think this is a good idea, as you old farts are often close minded and ageist. I'd rather not have you cluttering up the regular forum anyway...

Kiddiinngg ((maybe)). But, it is a good idea. 10 bucks says if you put it in the feedback and suggestions area Ron will respond with

"send me your moneez and join cafe very mature there. moneez now."

but, not in those exact words.

On another forums which I'm a member of we have the Intellectual Roundtable, which is very strictly moderated, with certain rules governing it e.g no one line posts, no posts which just agree with a point made by someone else etc.

The one problem with it is the need for heavy moderation and so it would put extra strain on the relativly small moderation team here.

Ah, don't worry, I don't fall in the over 30 category, neither. I am over 30 years old, exactly, however. But not as a whole number. I think shutting out all those people under 30 is a great idea. But then the 21 year old's start chalking their ID's.

I think its a fantastic idea. It would be great to have a forum for people who understand things like being a parent, having a mortgage, paying taxes, having high blood pressure, etc. Call me an old fart but I just can't relate to a "Goths Rule" thread or any of Tokosan's immature crap. I wouldn't want to completely exclude the younger folks though. Like Harvesthetic pointed out, a lot of the younger folks do have something valuable to add and some might like a change from the bs. Plus it would be the ideal forum for some of the younger folks to ask us geezers for advice. Maybe call it something like the "Mature Topics" forum.

Thanks for pointing that out; I feel so much better knowing where we stand.

It'd be good to have a more mature group to talk with, and not have to sort through so much childish prattle, but as has been mentioned, the younger members who have a higher level of maturity would be excluded. Also, if the ones under a certain age had to stay out of our area, wouldn't it be fair for us to stay out of theirs? And what about the over 30 members who actually don't know their ass from a hole in the ground? There are a few. I still like the idea though. I've heard that there's a forum that's somewhat more exclusive and better controlled. Likemclever would know which one it is. Too bad this forum lacks a PM feature.

I think that maturity involves a degree of patience with youthful drivel and the need to disrupt. I think leaving them behind would only add to their insecurities. Who knows? Maybe some of these kids are open minded enough to learn something from even us old rock apes.

Hey, I can agree it would be a frequented forum. Bbut, I think what Ron is doing right now is to divert the younger crowd to Baked.com instead fo creating a forum for the older or more serious adult discussion. Essesntially cann.com has all the areas an adults only forum would need in relation to marijuana there is just a lot of static that they seem to be in the midst addressing .
I bet we will see some changes when the new boards at baked.com open up.

a group of people that could get along and talk thing out with out flaming each other and there nasty side was under control, This forum don't say much for all of US, every one has something to offer here and we all trying to get the same thing in the fire, younger people don't like to be called Childish, the older one don't like be called F---ing Stupid adults, if we all give a little respect to each other and the older one see the younger one have fun they don't jump in and just lay them out, and the same goes the other way too. we all can live in the same environment and we all help each other we will be way ahead of the game...

In my time as being a MOD on this site I have noticed that alot of the junkie threads and posts are none by just as many over 30s and there is done by the under 30s. The fact that tokosan's post was responded to, and cocacola's posts were taken seriously, says alot about you guys. Mainly that your maturity is... a fucking joke.

I was thinking an over 30 forum was a good idea until I saw the dorks that compose the over 30 group are mostly just kids with a higher number.

lol. Get over yourselves and post with all the high schoolers.

I'm not exactly sure how responding to Toko's and Cola's posts make anyone immature. In any case it wasn't until Cola jumped on board that this thread really started to degenerate. He posted and we responded. Just because we are older doesn't mean we can't respond when some kid 1/2 our age comes on and starts insulting us. You may have noticed, however, that none of us responded with the typical "fuck you, blah blah, blah..." that might be expected from someone...well, you know.

You are right that we take things more seriously than you do. That's what comes from having the responsibilities that come with age. But that is exactly why having an over 30 forum is a good idea. That way not only can we have mature discussions but the younger folks don't have to deal with us adults either. Seriously, I can understand how you guys might not want us jumping into your threads and offering advice. Even though a lot of it is good intentioned it can come off as sounding patronizing.

Just put the annoying twits on ignore - you know how to use the ignore function right? Then you don't have to see their idiotic blather or avatars or sigs. As soon as it gets annoying just hit their profile and then the ignore. If you want to see something they say you can always read individual posts of theirs.

Once you have your ignore list built up there's a lot less noise in a place like this.
