Why do growers compress bud? I bought an 8th a while ago and noticed how it was flat like, granted it was still dank nice trichomes, red hairs, plus my friends and i got high lol.. but i recently read up on how compressing (flatening) decreases potency, et cetera. But why do growers do this?

Also, what exactley is "curing"? Why is it essential in the harvesting process and what does it involve?

Thanks!

Curing is drying the bud out so it will burn without too much trouble, and so that it goes down smoother.

Well i compress the bud to keep longer and for ethical purpous...it doesn't reduce potency all that much i can certify!

Curing is when you harvest you remove the leaves and make it dry...this doesn't look like an important part but it's the most crutial one that will influence your potency...

You can get a lot more details in the growing section of the forum...

actually curing comes after the drying process...

Drying is the most important in general, but curing is important for "coinnessiur quality" buds

For curing you place the dried buds in glass jars and close them, opening for ventilaytion about every 2-4 hours, best if you open just after the moisture has fermented slightly, but not molded . repeat until moisture level is perfect (buds wont mold, but also wont powder when broken)

curing is necessary because after a bud is dry, itt is still wet on the inside. a perfectly cured bud will leave white ashes, not grey or black, and will smoke smoothely

thisnt the complete process, but its enuf to give you the idea. cannabis culture has an entire article about curing bud

oh, and most people compress their shit so its easier to transport cuz its smalleer

i like compressed bud, you can technically load a bigger bowl, even though the two nugs LOOK like the same size/amount.

cured pot, from the sound of it, is healthier and should get you higher. i like the sound of it :)

i dont mind if my bud isnt dry, if it's not, i'll break it up into tiny pieces. i think it almost vaporises when it isnt so dry, provided i dont touch it directly to the flame... :)
