 Nirvana Seeds ladies and gents. A well established firm ,but all of their seeds are dirt cheap..!!
This worries me coz it makes me think they might be 'CHEAP IMMITATIONS'.
I hope not...because this means i can buy all the top names ..like BIG BUD. B52 . AK47. HAZE . NORTHERN LIGHT. SKUNK #1.and WHITE WIDOW.....?
Can EVERYONE who has ever tried a nirvana product please tell me if i'm wasting my time with them before i purchase the whole lot..do you get what you pay for or are they just very competitve with their prices.?....coz it all looks to good to be true.all the other componies charge a shit load more for the same strains.....WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?

I didnt have a good experience with them, also their male ratio in their seeds is not stable, wich means that more likely youll get more males than females...

Also as you said they are imitations... some expesiver firms have much better seeds...

ON the contrary, a big well breeded plant in a perfect enviroment can give out from 500 to 4000 seeds, so thats why they are cheap, seeds shoudnt be that expensive in the market... but oh well,,, economic rules eh...

Good luck i would recomend you to expend a little more but use Dutch Passion, Sensi, Dj Shorts or all the others...

If you go to www.seedbay.com youll see they have great brands...

with nirvana seeds you hav eto find the good pheno in the pack and thern you are set.great if you are starting a perpetual grow.like i am.if you don't plan on taking clones then it might be worth it to get seeds from somewhere else

Easy Roller
12-11-2005, 02:49 PM
Yes i was planning to take clones from the best female. But, wouldn't one have to select the best phenotype from any strain? I mean , whats the verdict here ...are we saying Nirvana aren't any good?

I am finishing up orange bud from dutch passion fem , they were all different in size and aperrance. I have 3 papaya from nirvana for mothers that I took cuttings from and destroyed them in a cheap small cloner, I don't want to put any one down but don't get the small daisy coner from botainicare. Anyway 1 showed white hairs so 2 cuttings are from it this time with some NL's from a seed off my first grow. The papaya are about 16 inches tall and have a good stinky sweet smell already. Nirvana is cheap but you need to sex any way unless you buy fem seeds. I have 5 other types from nirvana. They will keep me busy but the first seem OK. All seeds germed.

definatly worth the money .i have no problems with nirvana seeds

12-11-2005, 04:15 PM
some growers don't take clones grow from seed to flower then start over again with seeds when they are raeady.so want all there plants to be good.with nirvana you get assorted phenos so you have to pick out the ones that look the way you want

to be honest I'm gonna buy them anyway because they are dirt cheap..but with all the juicy selections these seed companies offer..it is almost impossible to choose..I find myself just browsing and browsing...they all say the same thing. But if anyone has anymore to say about Nirvana ..then fire away...If anyone wants to recomend a favourite strain they now about I'm very gratefull to hear ...thanks guys for all the intel so far!

ice or ak48 by nirvana

Easy Roller
12-12-2005, 12:17 PM
AK48 .....have you grown this type out? if so, how did it go..yeild, strength etc? Is it at all like to AK47? I would hope so! Methinks it is an 'upgrade' of that most famed stock. And how now with ICE? sounds......appealing!

I havent grown any Nirvana, but I bought some of their Super Skunk for next year. I still have my doubts, so I'm looking for a good strain like Joey Weed's Northern Lights X 99 or one of Dr Greenthumb's strains to grow along with it.

Easy Roller

I think thats a good idea...their seeds are cheap , so to buy a bag to grow with a more expensive type won't cost too much extra...and if the Nirvana type holds its own...then you can save a lot of bread in the future by buying their seeds instead of paying 'an arm and a leg!'
But what im after is someone who has done this ALREADY.......coz for me to find out may take 3 months! ya know

Hey ! hows about some imput ..i'm going crazy down here....The doctor said i should get more sun...so i've been living in the grow room...he said i should relax more...so i'm smoking the boom weed.....he gave me some pills, told me to take 1 a day for the rest of my life.......He only gave me 4!!!

Anybody ever harvest a Nirvana plant? If you say their as good as any...we can all grow for favourite strains for less money...Capito?!

Fugitive
12-14-2005, 10:53 PM
living in the grow room aye? ive always wondered if it would give you a tan :D

I like Nirvana for sure you just have to get lucky with your pick of strain and pheno type because I think it varies although I cant say this for certain because I have grown only 1 plant that isnt finished yet :)

But when you look around on overgrows strainguide the ratings are pretty impressive this may be because people feel like they are getting more for their money,, because if i bought ten sensi seeds for like 70 quid then did a grow with cheapo nirvana i would probably rate them pretty high too ;)

12-15-2005, 05:53 PM
How far along is your ice? How is it to grow?
Hey Fugitive....though art English...whats the other stuff on the streets that many just call WEED not SKUNK...more herbal and seedy? 10 quid an eighth ...I've smoke oz's of the stuff but dunno where to get seeds for it...It's all skunk skunk skunk..which is fine don't get me wrong...but good old weed has a nice high IMO

I've grown both the Nirvava Power Plant and nirvana Papaya first from seed and then from clone. There were 65% males out of 60 seeds so that was a bit of a bummer. I found the seeds to be less vigorous overall then your average seeds the germination rate was 85% using a method that with more expensive seeds yields 95% germination. The yield per plant of the seedlings was less then normal but the yield for the clones was about average. It took 6 weeks of flowering in both cases and the produce was really much better than expected.

All in all I would probably not grow these varieties again as there are far better genetics out there but finding them can be a major pain in the buttocks :)

Thanks for the thread and sorry for this relatively late reply but I am new here.

YEs I have had the weed youre talking about :D its pretty good but I do prefer the skunk that you can get (sometimes they dont cure it but i cant go complain)
I think the weed though is grown outside possibly in africa  lol just unregulated males everywhere.. crushed together so it doesnt fill as much in the containers and shipped.. but it is still nice to smoke it because it has been grown outside :)

I would like to point out that I believe much of what is sold as "nirvana" is most likely not from a breeder but out of someone's homegrown, I say this because any breeder worth a damm is going to have some kind of standardization. I think its quiet possible that they are the reject seeds of other grower's, also nirvana does not really sell there seeds so cheap go to nirvana.com and see for yourself, when you get these seed banks selling them for less than half that cost you know there is something wrong. Quiet possibly there is some kind of jealousy or rivalry going on to destroy nirvana seeds so the seedbanks sell garbage seeds as nirvana. In the usa though you have no choice but to go through a seed bank as nirvana will not sell to the usa. (thats what they say at least)

Easy Roller

Intersesting conspiracy theory...however most companies sell their goods legit'...and Nirvana's seeds ...like all breeders are packaged by the manufacturer...therefore ..if Nirvana were to sell someone else's shit to their one detriment...it would be their fault...I'm going by the pricing of Rhino seeds.....perhaps Nirvana sponser them

seedbare
12-17-2005, 12:48 AM
Nirvana's seeds are not packaged by the manufacturer, they sell them in bulk (loose seed) along with a stack of "nirvana" envelopes and require packaging by the seed shop. You could literally be getting any seed trust is of the essence here, and from what I have grown claiming to be nirvana certainly doesent fit any kind of "strain" or phenotype, there all over the scale. If indeed it was nirvana at all. I had also used rhino seeds in the past but they never delivered.

Not to knock things off-topic here, but I see one member states Rhino didn't deliver, and another states they did; I just ordered 2 x of Stonghenge, after being ripped off for the first time by lowgrade-seeds; don't tell me it's gonna' happen again !!
Also, someome mentioned seedbay; I've been trying to get the scoop on them; it seems you can get just about anything there, but I don't know anyone who's actually bought off of there.
I guess I should just break down and take a little trek to Canada someday, or definately set up a separate grow room for breeding; but, it's usually not so bad
once you've done business with a company, because you get to know what kind of comm to expect from them, and how long delivery times usually take.
BTW, Nirvana is one of the few "majors" I don't have, no reason really, it just seemed that Serious, Sensei, and others had what I wanted.
