I am doing a project on Drug laws, specifically focusing on cannabis. I am disussing the liberalisation of laws, and the benifits/disadvantages of this.

I am also interested in any additional information people may have in relation to the legality of cannabis.

Thank you, I would really appreciate this!

heres some pros and cons of legalization
pro: 1.tax $$ fer government, cannabis would prolly be taxed like alcohol as the legalizin of alcohol in canada after "prohibition"(after bootlegging prbs wit alcohol, it was illegalized in canada fer a while) the same thing is happening with weed, the gvt doesnt like the organzied crime aspect obviously. 2. selling and taxing weed would also hopefully eliminate sum ov the org. crime as dealers would be put out of business(of course i do not think this would happen) also this would eliminate gettin a record for simply possessing a joint as the courts were full of innocent ppl who just want to get high. 3. "Safer" weed as govt would have more control over potency levels etc. also u woodnt have to worry bout it bein laced wit another drug.4 medicinal use is made easier.

cons: 1. more pot would be smoked if legalized and this is, in part, the problem which they want to eliminate in the first place.
and im gunna have 2 apologize but im honestly too high to remember or think ov anythin else hahaa...hope i helped ya tho...if u want more info just read the posts theres tonz of info on legalization etc....

What would be the problem in more people using cannabis? And it isn't prohibited because it was a problem, it's prohibited because a racist owned a newspaper.

peace :)

For the truth on MJ being legal in Canada go to http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/MedPot-discuss/messages or http://medpot.net/ The law is dead in Canada, they admit that it died on Aug. 1, 2001 but they say that the judge brought the law back on Oct. 7, 2003. If you read the law books it explains that only parliament can legislaye new laws. POLCOA (Parliament Only Legislates, Courts Only Abrogate) We're in court tomorrow to challenge the validity of the possesion laws, again. This could be big if we win.

Please see my Posting in the Legal Forum re: Cannabis being Legal in Canada... Cannabis is NOT legal in Canada.

A small group of people led by John Turmel are confused - THAT is why their most recent case was remanded until late November 2004.

Please Educate yourself before you risk the chance of Jail.

ALISON
You have no idea how ridiculous what you have said in the past now sounds!!!
We have won & so have a lot of other people!!!

You don't always hear about them because they're gag ordered etc...

So what do you have to say now Alison Myrden Member of L.E.A.P. -
Law Enforcement Against Prohibition

It's now 5 years later & we hear that you've joined a class action law suit
claiming that the M.J. laws are dead....ha ha ha

This is what we've been saying since Terry Parker KILLED it back in 2001.

Glad you finally came to your senses about this, too bad you deterred sooooooo
many people from seeking help from John & us over the years....how do you sleep
at night?

John's kits are free to use & can do NO harm to anyone, it will NOT effect your
charges, only good can come from it...at the worst case scenario you loose the
motion & go on to trial like nothing ever happened.

Believe us, before John helped us they were demanding jail & after the help all
the way to the Appeals Court, they dropped 8 charges & escorted us out the door.

We all owe Terry Parker & John Turmel a debt of gratitude for not giving
up...especially when they had so many people on the sidelines trying to sabotage
their work.
