View Full Version : Damn circuit popped!!

When I got up this morning at 8am I noticed my lights were not on. They were suppose to come on at 6am. So I went down in the basement, low and behold to find the circuit popped!!! So my question is since I got the lights on at 8am instead of 6, so they will just run 10 hours instead of the 12 today will that have any negative affects?

I cannot go to a 8am-8pm cycle because I get up for work M-F at 6am so I need the lights on before I leave.

I couldn't imagine this one time could do anything, but I figured I needed to ask some experts...

No big deal on a one time gig. Don't even worry about it but you may want to figure out your amperage load on your system to determine why you popped the circuit. Remember, after you figure out the amp load add on another 15% of that to compensate for the inrush current when the system initially fires up. Good luck!!! :thumbsup:

change your cycles so they come on after you come home and go 'OFF' before you go to work...this also allows you to balance heat problems against the cold winter air at night...goodluck.lw

If i wanted to do what you are recommending how do you switch light cycles. Just leave them in the dark for 24 hrs or light for 24hrs?

Do you know if your home is wired for 10 amps or 15 amps? Remember never use more than 80% of your breakers rated capacity.

Exactly, popping a circuit is usually like a tap on the shoulder. You should really be worrying about your amp draw on the circuit. :thumbsup: Good luck!!!
