But,,I removed some of the spent fan leaves at the base of my plants. I gave it alot of thought and I think (*hope*) its for the best.

It's ok to remove leaves if they are not green anymore. I would remove the all yellow leaves from my plant and they always easily come off with a gentle tug.

I don't belive there's really a point in it. Well other than looks. But do you really want to show your plants to anybody? (Hears Police Sirens Closing In) Oh shit I gotta go. :D
Hello P :) I always remove the dead leaves, well there not serving any purpose and it makes the plants look neater ;)

removing dead is one thing but cutting a good healthy leaf is another.

Cool. Then I feel even more justified I did it. lol. Everything I cut was totally dead.

if its dead, it really doesnt matter if its on or not. if you think about it what could possibly be wrong with cutting them off if their serving no purpose

I`ve got 4 plants that are 4 weeks into flower and i`m finding i`m pulling off a handful of dead leaves everyday!! Especially from the bottom of the plant.
I was a little alarmed and worried at 1st at the amount of leaves that were turning yellow and dying off ( as i`m a relative newbie to growing) but i soon realised it was just a normal part of the plants life cycle as it switches its efforts into bud creation.
I find that it`s actually quite helpful to remove these leaves as they no longer serve a purpose and removing them allows the light to flood through the canopy far better and i`m finding bud sites fattening up all over them now- Even right near the base of the plant where light would otherwise have hardly reached!!!
Yer pull all them dead leaves off!!!!
