I live in the 'burbs. Now, these aren't your typical 'burbs, these are obscenely rich, soccer mom populated, culturally monogomous, soulless 'burbs. Our one form of entertainment, a movie theatre, was torn down years ago to make way for a fourth liquor store. Now, if that doesn't accuratley symbolize our town's priorities, I don't know what does. Anyway, my school also happens to have been named a "Super School" by the Boston Globe, who ran an entire article on our high school's remarkable acedemic and atheletic achievements. The article mentioned how "students who are all-star swimmers are also taking not one, two, but three AP (college level) courses at once".

It is a remarkable phenomena, but from all angles my school appears to be perfect. For 4 years, our football team have been reigning state champions and recently broke a 90 year record for most consecutive wins, and they still haven't lost a game. Meanwhile, our state tirelessly tops the list of MCAS and SAT scores, and our Academic Decathalon have been state champs for 2 years running. We are infallible, or so it seems.

But going to the most privelaged, academically challenging high school in Massachusetts has its downside. The kids who go to my school are under an incredibly large amount of pressure from society, parents, and teachers to succeed. We may go to a Super School, but we may not all be Super Students. But now, with adderall, we can finally meet everyone's impossible expectations. For years, my friends have been in full support of "addys", touting them as the newest way to go get blazed AND still ace an english test the next period. It seemed like a perfect solution. Finally, we had a drug that could shrink our appetites (and, coincidentally, our waist sizes), keep our buzz going from the last bowl we smoked or x we popped, and still focus enough in class to take 2 pages of notes.

I was skeptical at first, as I had a friend who had become a complete slave to the fucking drug and was stealing money from his parents to feed his oh-so-suburban addiction. Not to mention the fact that doing drugs to do well in school is pretty fucking uncool in the first place. But when I popped that first hit of kiddie speed, I realized the truth: this shit was great. I could smoke every morning as usual, but not be burnt out and tired as fuck for my early morning classes! I could still be high, but focused, controlled, and better yet: smarter. I tried not to make it a habit, but every once in a while when I had some college application or english essay to do, I would find myself sucking down a few of those little pills, and the best part is...nobody ever knew about it. Before I knew it, it was so readily available I would just be walking to a class and offered it for 3 bucks, then 2 bucks, and finally a solitary dollar. They must have been making a brisk business to be able to reduce their price by more than half and still make money.

Adderall truly is "coke without the guilt", an easy, clean, and indiscernable high that lasts for hours and keeps you going like the energizer bunny. I never fully realized the extent to which this simple little drug had permeated our school system until today, when i found a 30mg pill lying face up on the stairs. The goddamn stairs. I don't even know what to think anymore. What are all of your opinions on Adderall? Is it a perfect drug or a demon pill that turns kids into drug-addicted robots? I'd like to hear some opinions.

I'd also like to note that I'm on Adderall and high right now, hence the incredibly long post and the often rambling nature of my narrative. oh man, and adderall really does bring out all the vocabulary in my brain. so sorry if you had no fucking clue what i was talking about.

thanks, guys. cheap coke indeed. it just seems so ridiculous to me sometimes, and part of me really hates adderall because it's turning into this insanely overprescribed drug that doctors are giving to kids from conception so that by the time they're in kindergarden they're these soulless, robotic superkids. but then another part of me thinks that 'damn, this shit is good, and i just pwned my math test'. how many of you guys pop this shit? and, just for kicks, say whether you live in an urban, suburban, or rural area if you do. i'm just curious.

agreed, the US is fucked up, but this stuff does really help alot of people, i got a couple of friends that seriously can barely function without adderol, they are just really fucked in the head, but they are a minority seems to me that ADD medicine is waaaay over perscribed. college kids can get it easily by just saying they are having trouble studying

for alot of people it makes it hard to get hard, or hard to climax, and i know some people who says that their wang shrinks a bit while on it and the couple of days afterward.... but these problems are never permanent.... i think all amphetamines in general do this, i dont know anything about girls on this subject

And the best part is, their parents usually don't have to pay for it. See, when you become successful and move to the suburbs, your company can usually afford to give you a nice healthcare program, so that your kids can grow up to be just super-duper like every American should be.

Every American that's middle-class or above, that is. Moving around from school to school, I definitely noticed a correlation between the average parents' income and the kids substance dependence... not always adderall in particular, but that was one of the most common ones all the way until college.

I agree that adderal is more like meth than coke. I also believe it is too easily prescribed and too many surburban kids can get there hands on it. Personally I live in the middle of fucking nowhere, with a joke for a school that keeps almost getting shut down b/c of lack of funding. Where 70 percent of the people are below poverty level. So I do have to say that I think it's funny when upper class kids in the best schools are taking adderal to achieve.
