i love withnail & I its one of the few films i find more funny the more times i see it! Same with this is spinal tap.

the script is endlessly quotable and has lots of odd and freaky characters along the way and plenty of boozing, consuming and abusing a variety mind bending substances.


Danny: Why trust one drug and not the other? That's politics, isn't it?
Withnail: What are you talking about Danny?
Danny: Politics man. If you're hanging on to a rising balloon, you're presented with a difficult decision; let go before it's too late, or hold on and keep getting higher. Posing the question, how long can you keep a grip on the rope?

I actually dow.. I mean rented this movie because of this poll and watched it. Really good movie! Even though it has a strong homosexual plot to it, even though nothing ever happens sexually in the movie at allâ?¦, I still really liked it. It is actually very depressing, Withnil (by the way its Withnil not Withnail) is just so fucked up and pathetic at the end. Great symbolism between Withnil and Peter (& I).

Loved it and its one of those movies that you think about for days after you see it.
