Is chronic a term for grass (and if so why) or is it a type?

Yes, it's a term for very strong strains of "grass" or marijuana.

out here people dont care too much on the names of strains.all good weed is chronic and cheap is called stress.just words we use.instead of saying hey would you like to smoke some pepperjack weed i got or lets smoke some blueberry it sounds kind of lame instead we say lets go smoke some kron.much better

same here except we would talk about skunk, high grade, commercial, grass, weed, spliff. bugger there are so many. the first 3 are the ones I use most.
