O'k guys right now I am still battleing a ph problem with my soil and stuff and just wanted to see what other soil users ph is at!................

Little info: my ph is always set between 6.5-6.6 when given to my plants, the plants are doing poorly in the color department most are turning a yellow even on some of the new growth, first thought might be a (N) problem but fed the plants some ferts high in (N) so the problem should be fixed but wasn't,so then I used epson salt to see if it was a low Magnesium problem! nope wasn't that either! note: the ph is always set between 6.5-6.6 all avaiable nutes are given to the feed cycles and I do a flushing after ever so many feedings! to prevent salt build ups and what not!.................

So why would my plants still be going down hill? so after rattleing my brains and tons of research lol still plants on a down hill spiral into the 4 week of flowering! it's not to the point the plants are dying but I figure if they are yellow they could do alot better if they were greenier............................

So after several hours of rattling my brains I figured what the hell I'll check the run off of the water after I water the plants, measured up the water to a 6.5-6.6 ph watered the plants and checked the water that came out from the bottom of the pot,it read @ less then 6.0,tryed it again with a different plant same thing?....................so then I ended up having to water the plants with a 8.0 ph inorder to get the run off of water to read @ 6.5? of course I know 8.0 is not good for the plants but the 8.0 turns into 6.5 in a instant I water the soil?............................so with all that said :

I was wondering the next time anyone here who grows with soil waters their plants could you tell me what your run off water registers on the ph scale? just for my own curiousity!...........I should also note the 8.0 water hasn't taken a negative effect on the plants infact they seem to be more stable if anything......just searching for answers.....Thanks...

So after you water your soil with ph 6.5 what does the run off measure at? thanking you in advance!

i wouldnt worry about your ph in soil... if you use any organic ferts, there are beneficial bacteria there living in the soil that will slowly correct the ph

i dont even bother testing my ph anymore... my water is 6.1 from the tap.. .but if you live in a city there could be other nasties in the water, like chlorine... try switching them to distilled water and see if it helps :twocents:

you should add dolomite lime to your soil mixture to keep ph in check

hi, im using soil, and I havent once checked the ph balance. My plant seems to be doing okay so far(fingers crossed). Im using B&Q houseplant compost.

I have to re-pot this weekend, Im thinking of just using exact same.
