One guy was born in the fifties, after his mother had a historectomy. He talked of a lot of things, including his father, who was from a star-system called Palades, or something similar. In Vietnam, when he was sent with 11 others to assassinate the N. Vietnam leader, something happened and they all died. He then remembers laying on an operating table, supposedly the aliens had picked him up (his half-family). Ten days after the ordeal, he was found in a rice paddy by U.S. soldiers. They said he has an extra vertebrae and an extra rib.

LOL. All this kinda stuff amazes me, aliens life after death etc. It's these things that keep man kind going and keeps life interesting. We've solved so many of lifes mysterys, cured diseases etc but we cant' say for sure what happens after death and if there is extra terrestrial life out there.
Having said that If someone came up to me and said ' I can give you all these answers'. I'd say no ta! It's these things that makes life interesting and continues to amaze me!
Peace

I've seen a UFO, during the NCAA Basketball tournament, about 15 years ago. It was going in a southerly direction when I noticed it out the window. It seemed very high, or far away, almost like a star, and then it abruptly turned in an east-northeasterly direction and that's when I went outside to take a closer look.
The night sky was very clear. This object seemed to circle the sky, as it kept it's direction, but had circled around me, seeming like it traveled millions of miles. That's when my friend told me to run inside and get the binoculars. When I came out, it was gone. He said it was almost like an explosion and it took off. I swear it should have been there when I got back out of the house, fifteen seconds later.

I saw one in about 1990 - I was walking along a track in Wiltshire, England, near Stonehenge, and saw an orange triangle hovering above the skyline on the other side of the valley. Watched it for about 10 minutes then walked on and it had dissapeared next time I looked. I know someone else who saw the same thing so it wasn't me making it up. I also know the area really well (I grew up there) and there is nothing in the area that could explain it.

Belief in extraterrestrial life may have been present in ancient Egypt, Babylon, and Sumer, although in these societies, cosmology was fundamentally supernatural and the notion of aliens is difficult to distinguish from that of gods, demons, and such. The first important Western thinkers to argue systematically for a universe full of other planets and, vicariously, possible extraterrestrial life were the ancient Greek writers Thales and his student Anaximander in the 7th and 6th centuries B.C.E. The atomists of Greece took up the idea, arguing that an infinite universe ought to have an infinity of populated worlds. Ancient Greek cosmology worked against the idea of extraterrestrial life in one critical respect, however: the geocentric universe, championed by Aristotle and codified by Ptolemy, privileged the Earth and Earth-life (Aristotle denied there could be a plurality of worlds) and seemingly rendered extraterrestrial life impossible.
When Christianity spread through the West the Ptolemaic system became dogma and although the Church never issued any formal pronouncement on the question of alien life [2], at least tacitly the idea was heretical. In 1277 the Bishop of Paris, Etienne Tempier did overturn Aristotle on one point: God could have created more than one world (given His omnipotence) yet we know by revelation he only made one. To take a further step and argue that aliens actually existed remained dangerous. The best known early-modern proponent of extra-solar planets and widespread life off Earth was Giordano Bruno, who was burned at the stake for this and other unorthodox ideas in 1600.
The Church, however, could not contain the storm that accompanied the invention of the telescope and the Copernican assault on geocentric cosmology. Once it became clear that the Earth was merely one planet amongst countless bodies in the universe the extraterrestrial idea moved towards the scientific mainstream. In the early 17th century the Czech astronomer Anton Maria Schyrleus of Rheita mused that "if Jupiter hasâ?¦inhabitantsâ?¦they must be larger and more beautiful than the inhabitants of the Earth, in proportion to the [size] of the two spheres;" he did not dare to confirm the existence of Jovian beings due to potential theological difficulties. Later, this bold step would be taken. William Herschel, the discoverer of Uranus, was one of many 18th-19th century astronomers convinced that our Solar System, and perhaps others, would be well populated by alien life. Other luminaries of the period who championed "cosmic pluralism" included Immanuel Kant and Benjamin Franklin. At the height of the Enlightenment even the Sun and Moon were considered candidates for hosting aliens. The Christian attitude towards extraterrestrials turned from denial to ambivalence. Theological criticisms had been partially stalemated by a critical counter-argument that had remained in the background since the pronouncements of 1277: God's omnipotence not only allowed for other worlds and other life, on some level it necessitated them.

That's the problem. 95% of UFO (bigfoot, greys, chupacabra, your company name here) sightings fall in to that category. The vast majority of them are our modern day legends and part of our modern day mythology. That being said, I am a firm believer that myth and legend almost always have some basis in fact. And most cultures through time have some kind of space invader myth along with myths to cover all sorts of naturally occuring things like thunder (Thor) and lightning (Zeus) which both have their basis in truth. Thunder and lightning happen. But we now know that it is not the work of big hairy thundering beings but rather the forces of nature. (ie. atmospheric conditions that are conducive to forming thunderstorms)
Do I believe there are sentient intelligent being out there in the galaxy?
Absolutely. The Galaxy is really really big.
Do I believe they have been here?
Not bloody likely. The Galaxy is really really big.
Do I believe we are somehow the product of some kind if intergalactic seeding program?
Not bloody likely.
Then again, what do I know?

They showed the Loch Ness monster, I don't know if you've seen that one yet. I can't remember exactly now, but it was something small with a reptile-like head attached to it, and they showed a ripple, in the water, that proved it was a hoax.

I remember the Jackalope from my childhood. Grew up in Illinois but my folks loved Montana and would vacation there whenever they could. Every souvenir shop east of Iowa has a few heads mounted for the tourists. Some even have the entire animal mounted on a slab of cedar with a 1/4" coat of high gloss polyurethane, a couple of weeds, a rock and some sand.

My picture of the Loch Ness Monster (?), taken on one of the boats that tour from Fort Augustus. This picture has not been retouched electronically, or otherwise, it looks the same on the original negative. Its not The Loch Ness Monster, but if you think you know what it is send me an e-mail.
The most common answer is a swimming Elephant! We have no wild ones in Scotland. More elaborate answers include "It looks to me like a fat guy, Floating on his back with his right arm in the air!"

In April 1934 the quintessential photo of "Nessie," the fabled Loch Ness Monster, was allegedly snapped by a London gynecologist named Robert Wilson. Known as the "surgeon's photograph," it is the most often seen depiction of the creature, showing it with a long neck and small head, somewhat resembling a plesiosaur, silhouetted against the sunlit water. A second photo by Wilson was of relatively poor quality.
Over the years, Wilson seemed to tire of the controversy he had stirred up, telling one journalist that he made no claim as to having photographed a sea monster and that, moreover, he did not believe in the Ness creature. Subsequently, Wilson's youngest son "bluntly admitted that his father's pictures were fraudulent" (Binns 1984).
Then, in 1994 two Loch Ness researchers made news when they provided information that the photos were indeed a hoax, that they depicted a model made from a toy submarine to which had been affixed a neck and head fashioned of plastic wood (Nickell 1995). The researchers' source was the late Christian Spurling who, two years prior to his death in late 1993, told how the prank had been conceived by his stepfather, Marmaduke Wetherell, with Dr. Wilson agreeing to take the photos (Genoni 1994).

It truly amazes me that we have satelites that can find a pimple on a gnats ass from 150 miles in space but we can't seem to get a clear photograph of Nessie or Bigfoot or the mother ship? I'm not saying that those things do or don't exist, but rather that no one seems to be able to muster up enough plausible concrete evidence to prove or disprove them. I am aware of the underground rivers that connect many land locked lakes to the oceans. It is certainly not implausible that Nessie is a plesiosaur or even an as yet undiscovered specie of whale.
We don't know shit about the ocean depths because we haven't figured out how to explore them yet. Too many engineering obstacles that we have yet to overcome. No telling what ancient mysteries we have waiting for us to find and unravel.

Good point about not being told. I'm not saying the govt has found anything or that area51, for example is just a hoax, because even if the feds have contacted or captured aliens...they wouldn't tell.
I guess the best evidence of that is the fact that for all of our bluster in the middle east and with all of our technology and money, we can't find an old man dragging a dialysis machine around in the desert.
