sounds like a good set up. have u looked at ebay? i brought the same light as in that package (but 400watt version) i payed £59.99 which is pretty cheap, check out basement lighting(ebay shop) on ebay, you mite find a similar or same set up for cheaper!! that set up might be a handful if completely cluless about growing, but if previous growing experience has been had then i say go for it!! you will end up with some pukka bud!

What up Gruffy?
Welcome...
I read what the system brings, and it looks good. I can't tell you if it's the best choice... you've got to pick that yourself.
But, what kind of hydro system have you decided to grow?
You're going hydro... not soil... right?
There's a couple of cool hydro setups to pick from. A simple one (relatively);;; DWC (Deep Water Culture). Keep in mind that you should get some good measuring tools for hydro setups... you should be able to measure the TDS/ppm/EC/pH and temps...
also, good hydro nutes (many options you have here - I'm using ((ok, planning on using)) GH 3-part...).
I'm looking @ the setup you posted... but I'm trully unsure if it's an Ebb&Flow... or a Drip system... Can't figure it out...
Nothing... those are a couple of options... ;)

If your a first time grower maybe you should try soil first to see the stages of plant growth and to get a "harvest" under your belt before going hydro. I have a grow light system for sale here at http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?p=477879#post477879

stick with dual spec, it doesnt seem like it but there is 30% more blue spectrum added than ordinary hps lamps and plenty of red for flowering, plus its the 600watt light in the package which is the most efficient power input to lumen output, ( i think)
