I use schultz products:orchid mix 70/30 w/perlite, and peat on top. You can use the cactus ferts, w/superthrive. clone with root powder. All are Schults products

use ph'd rowater or ph'd distilled water and soak orchid mix overnight...
get 17qt. planter/pot a wally's and add 1 layer of very thoroughly rinsed out lava rock,
then fill up pot with mixture of orchid mix and perlite...place an inch of peat...there you go...

I use advanced nutrients 3-part micro-grow-bloom...and additives. The orchid mix drains well so I water every 2-3 days with 1/2 gallon if mix; once I am in flower...hope this helps

Thank you for this. It's like the forbidden question I always wanted to ask :)

Edit: How do you "soak" soil? Put it in a bucket, fill with water, and drain in the morning?

if you are using cfl's you can buy plastic "old style" hanging shoplight and take off face shield hang upside down and you have a lightweight, plastic, safe...light receptacle, that is extremely portable/adjustable...or just clip-on reflectors, but they create a little heat...it all depends on your environment.lw

orchid mix 8 bucks
perlite 4 bucks
peat 4 bucks
superthrive 7-8 bucks
schultz cactus ferts, $/?...I never used these, but others did with success.
3- part micro, grow, bloom...25 bucks for all 3

check out my nutrients thread in these forums and you can get an idea of what a full nutrient regimen would consist of...it is not complete, but over time I will update it, as it takes a lot of time to put lists with descriptions of usefullness/or, how to use.

You should read all the basic growing faqs and peruse the hydro sites, before you ask for entire recipes and costs. take some time to price things for yourself; for instance greencoast hydro has one of the best grow step by steps right on their site...most have all the different nutrient companies products...Advanced Nutrients are a little harder to find because some old schoolsuppliers feel that they ripped off other co's formulas.
Which, they did basically to get started, they also credit General Hydroponics for 3-part and bud blood was dr bambridge bloom blood or something and...etc.etc....well they have developed alot of their own products and test their products on MJ exclusively. I personally use a combination of Advanced Nutrients...Botanicare...Fossil Fuel, and Superthrive.

Now go read about all of them imagine putting together a grow and what you will need
is discussed in these forums, if you look for it.lw
