View Full Version : To clone a polyploid?

I was reading someone's description of their plant and realized mine had the same characteristic. Two petioles (leafstems) from each side of a node. For example one coming out perpendicular to the stem and a second growing at a 45 degree angle (making 4 petioles per node).

Later in the thread someone named this as a polyploid and that they have much higher yeilds. He recomended the person clone it.

I am planning on switching to 12/12 in about a week, should I top and clone before I switch to 12/12 so I have a mother plant (assuming it is a polyploid)?

Also if you suggest I do clone, can someone give me detailed instructions on how to top and clone as I have not attempted this before.

Thanks,

I have never seen a polyploid myself, just heard of it and want to know how it look like. Thanks for sharing.

I dont know if its actually a polyploid, I just read a similar description on another thread and someone SAID it was a polyploid.

I did some reading up on what exactly a polyploid is and I think its pretty unlikely what I have is polyploid. I think it may just be a unique mutation that may cause higher yeilds... then again it could cause lower yields so who knows?

At any rate I am still thinking about cloning cuz i like this plants genetics so far, can anyone leave some detailed instructions on how to top and then how to clone so i can give it a shot in the next few days?

Thanks,

Check the FAQ forum. I'm pretty sure detailed instructions already exist for those two tasks.
