Episode 1: A piece of drek.

- They made a little kid the hero, with terms like "I'll do a spin, that's a good trick" apparently that's enough to outmaneuver a trained pilot. This stupid idea just makes it feel like a Nikolodean movie, the kind of movie that can make little kids jump up and cheer and the rest of us die of boredome.

- There was excessive comic releif, and frankly it could have done without any.

- Jar Jar Binks.... need I say more?

- Many many times "hero's" would win by accident.

- The stupid droids were commical and acted like they were in a little kids movie.

- The end essentially tried to copy "A new hope" by flying a fighter into a huge ass enemy ship, firing a torpedo, and flying out as it explodes.

- The Characters were all flat and entirely lackng creativity.

- it was said that yoda trained Obiwan, yet in the movie Quigon trains him.

- it got preachy at times. IE "you're a slave?" "I'm a person, and my name is anakin"

- the trade federation is a lame enemy.

Episode 2:

honestly I don't remember much about this one, I saw it on opening night and that was it, so it's been a while. generally I came out feeling that it was better than episode 1, but nothing remarkable, just on ok movie. I don't like that it was all filmed in front of a blue screen though.

Episode 3:

Personally, I thought it was an excellent movie. It was dark, which is definately a nice change of pace, and I really like how they transitioned the old republic into the new empire. overall, I was impressed. however a few problems remained, but I could look past them. those being:

- In the beginning space battle when the ship tips and they all fall to the side, which of course doesn't make sense because there's no up or down in space, it wouldn't make a difference which way they were facing.

- general grevous's cough was annoying and childishly commical, a pathetic attempt to give his character depth. that and I'm not entirely sure it's plausible with his anatomy.

- They really didn't need to make a point of pointing out the names of chewbacca, luke, and leia. WE ALL FIGURED THAT OUT. plus, while we all know who they are, it still ruins the whole 6 movies because they tell you it's luke and leia and it's supposed to be a surprise when you watch episodes 4,5, and 6. anybody who watched them for the first time would have that ruined for them.

- The one thing that genuinly pissed me off was the way they killed natalie portman. "she's... just lost the will to live" as the medical droid put it. fuck right off, she's all beaming at her new baby's being born, then she dies of a god damn broken heart. give me a break.

The Empire Strikes Back. HANDS. DOWN.

The original three are, of course, the best. Return of the Jedi was the beginning of the end, though.

It's not that I didn't like the cast of the new Star Wars films, it's that I didn't like the cast in that context. The original films were.. I don't know.. genuine, you know? The actors were no-names at the time, as far as I know.

When I saw the title, I thought people would be coming out with this new stuff, "Revenge of the Sith". I thought, nobody's gonna be thinking about Empire Strikes Back. The beginning where those huge "dinosaur-looking" robots trample across the snow is freaky. I can imagine running away from one of those, as I had once been startled with my friend on a cross-country ski expedition near my house, by a huge moose and it's offspring. When we turned around to take off, we had problems getting down the hill because of our cross-country skis. And I think it may have only been a horse.
