at the moment my plants are in 6" round pots, i was planning to transplant before 12/12. but i was wondering:

would it be possible to use 3ltr / 4ltr drink's bottles?

i ask this as, i would be able to keep my plant's much closer to the light, rather than have plant's at the edge of the growspace getting little light.

also i have read somewhere that the root's are mainly concerned with depth, rather than width as they like to go straight down.

i would of course cover the sides so the root's dont get exposed to light, and add drainage.

Hello there UK Green. The general rule of thumb when it comes to growing cannabis is only one plant per pot. Then your container size must match gallons versus height of the plant. I don't know the metric system very well so I'm going by standard american engineering here. Say your cannabis plant was three feet tall then you would have to have a three gallon cointainer to grow it in to allow the roots space to grow without encountering nutrient lockout in which the plant has taken up all of the space availible to it and asorbed all of the nutrients out of the medium. To make it more simple remember one gallon per foot of the plant. Oh I almost forgot. Also the wider your containers are the bushier the plant will grow. The deeper the container the higher it will grow.

Jiffy pots inside of a 5 gallon pot works.Then no transplanting is needed..
