what up everyone...this is my first time growing with the RIGHT MATERIALS. i'm just waiting for my seeds. but anyways, my growroom is 6 ft (length) x 4 ft (width) x 7.5 ft (height), but the growroom has no door. it's just in the corner of my basement. also, i have a hydrofarm 400 W HPS/MH switchable ballast, and was planning on growing 4-5 plants. i also have a 3 ft oscillating fan from sharper image. are there any suggestions on what i should do concerning ventilation? i have a huge wooden board that can shut my growroom but i've noticed that the temp reaches 80-85 degrees.
i've also measured the temp without the board. i put 2 thin black curtains up and measured the temp, and it was way better- 73 degrees. but i read that curtains shouldn't be used because it can develop fungi and bacteria. any suggestions?

Squirrel Cage Fan or Inline Exhaust Fan my friend. www.hydrowarehouse.com
Click on ventilation. CFM's stands for Cubic Feet Per Minute. I calculated your grow room dimensions and they meausure at 180CFM's. So buy one of the fans I suggested at 180CFM's or higher. You must evacuate the old air out of the room at least onces every five minutes or once a minuite being optimal. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice trichome! greatly appreciated. i was looking at the one that was 265 CFM's. do you think i'll be able to install it myself? for example, i was gonna cut a whole in my wooden board to fit that fan.

oh yeah. cut a 4"x4" square hole and just run four bolts through the fan mounting bracket and the wood and then your set.

By the way I highly recommend the HydroFarm Active Air Squirrel Cage Fans. They can be found at www.hydrofarm.com if you want to see one and they are american made and affordable. Dayton Fans are german made and I think they are too loud for the application that your using it for. Good luck to you.
