eh dunno if its a myth or what but sometmes they actually give you the flu virus in the shot and helps you be immune to it. but screw feeling like shit for a week after you get the shot!

wait a day or to and then go to the doctor but its probly just a small reaction from the chemicals injected into you

Some vaccines are live virus, and others are dead. The flu shot is usually always a live virus. They actually injected you with a small amount of the flu virus, so your body could figure out how to defend itself. It'll figure it out and you probably won't get the flu again this season, or at least that particular strain.

the flu shot gives you a very 'mild' flu. you will feel fine in 3 or 4 days.

yeah as a matter of fact the flu shot is what fucked you over, when i was younger i got it and was sick for 2 months and was dangerously close to dying, my immune system had almost completely shut down. i was on so many meds, so yeah that why i will never again get that load of malarky again, the way the government promotes it it wouldnt suprise me if there was some weird like mind control syrum in it of some funky shit

I don't understand why people still get flu shots. This seems to be the story from everyone I know that gets them. I've never had one and I've probably only had the "flu" once in my lifetime.

There are many many different strains of flu and some can make you really sick for a long time, and some can be deadly. Every year, the flu vaccine that comes out is a different strain depending on whats going around. Some people would rather get the flu shot than get the flu.

The flu shot is usually not for the regular flu, i forget the name of it, unless its a mutated form.

Yep, flu shot made you ill. I'm quite alarmed to hear how common this is though, 'cause I've had flu shots and never gotten ill from them before...

Since I are a nurse let me give you the low-down on Flu shots. Once you receive the injection you are receiving 2-3 different "dead" flu viruses. They are based upon the flu from last season, usually 2-3 different flu strains. To build up immunity to these 2-3 different viruses you may experience mild flu symptoms, which also means your immune system is temporarily weakened.

So, if you were exposed to a simple cold 24-72 hrs before you got the flu shot, you are going to be really sick because that...... mild flu symptoms + exposure to a cold + your immune system is now weakened = really feeling crappy.

Also beware that many times a flu will come along that isn't in the flu vaccine and therefore you may still get the flu. When I get the flu shot I always plan to have the next 2-3 days off due to the very real possibility of picking up a cold along with the flu vaccine "mild flu symptoms". So at least Im home to nurse myself back to health.

Hope this sheds some light on why you can get really sick when you get the flu shot, and contrary to how you feel, the flu shot doesn't give you the "flu", but with the right environmental combination you will get really sick and not believe me.
