Why doesn't the US switch to this system? It makes so much sense! I hate having to try and remember how many grams are in an oz...but if everyone used the metric system, BAM! Easy as fuck...and I don't understand the whole fl.oz. thing..does that measure the weight or the volume of a liquid ?

We have been switching to it for years. You can't just switch over immediately. If you look on containers now, we have metric measurements also. It wasn't like this years ago. It is a slow process, but the US is slowly addapting it.

Really? I wasn't aware of this...sweetnac :)

The old English system is too complicated with too many conversions involved...it definately needs to be dissolved

Who knows when we will fully convert over and you'll only see metric everywhere.

And I quote:

"The Metric system is the tool of the devil! My car gets 40 rods to the hog's head, and that's the way I likes it!!"
