HELLO FRIENDS,I WILL GROW INDOORS SOIL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS IN MY CLOSET 18 SQ FEET(6 X3)I AM A PATIENT UNDER PROP 215 AND MY CITY ALLOWS ME TO GROW 24 PLANTS!I DON NOT THINK I GOT SPACE FOR THE 24S.I AM THINKING TO GROW AROUND 16 PLANTS WITH A GOOD YIELD ..WHAT DO YOU THINK? ANY SUGGESTIONS ON STRAINS THANK YOU MACONHA

18 square feet would require about 1000w of HID light.. so you'll want a 1kw hps

to keep it simple, yet get the best/ fastest results id suggest you grow in 5gal buckets w/ drainage holes in the bottom... as many as will fit in your space... MJ likes to stretch her feet, so the more room for roots you give her, the better

if you like, you can get some air pumps and bury airstones in the bottom of your buckets... we call it SoiDro... it will increase growth rates by getting more o2 to the roots, but will dry out the soil faster, requiring more watering and feeding than normal... overall a small sacrifice for faster growth :) it will also make overwatering close to impossible - near hydro growth rates with simplicity of soil growing :D

i dont think you will get 16 plants in that space.. maybe half that... but remember the # of plants does not dictate yield, overall care is more important for getting those high yielders :)

I don't have much advise for you on strains, however, the best advice I can give you is one word.......VENTILATION!!!!! I made the mistake, when I first started, of spending a lot of attention to lighting, CO2, nutrients etc. (which are all important) but I overlooked ventilation. I purcased a CO2 injection system and figured that as long as they had CO2 then I could skimp on the ventilation. My first crop was very potent but the buds were VERY loosely packed and not much weight. After a few crops of loose buds I invested in a couple good inline fans and some duct hose. My harvest almost tripled. Then the problem became how to add CO2 to the grow space without it all blowing right back out from the fans. I decided to double the CO2 rate on the flow meter and accept the fact that I was loosing a lot of the gas. I did that for a few crops and now I have a programmable climate controller.
In hindsight, I should have skipped spending $200 in the CO2 system at first and instead spent the money on the fans. Now, with the controller, all is good. The fans shut off and the CO2 fills the room quickly afterward.
Anyway, good luck with whatever strain you decide on and be thankful that you live in a state that has laws like the ones you enjoy there. In this state if you would get caught with that many plants they'd probably hang you. lol

Peace

It's legal If you live in Alaska. As for California you need a "Compassionate Use Act Identification Card.
