Anybody else a fan of Rome on HBO? It's a must-see for anyone even slightly interested in ancient Roman culture. It's historically accurate, very exciting and well done.

When does it take place?? It depicts Caesar's rise to dictatorship, and demise, beginning right after he's conquered the neighboring country Gaul.

:D I'm a huge Rome fan. I'm also a pretty big history buff, especially Roman History. HBO's Rome begins with the conquest of Gaul in 54 B.C. And ends with Caeser's death on the ides of march March, 15 44 B.C. Too bad the last episode is this Sunday. Rome should show the world that you can have and interesting and popular show and still be accurate to history. :D  :smokin:

I think that's on the BBC in the UK as well, although I haven't seen it. Lots of trailers for it.

I'm pretty nervous, since Brutus is already plotting Caesar's death, and the trailers for next episode looked like he was already going to get assassinated. Maybe next season will have Octavian become emperor, and Antony marrying Octavia. ;)

Not Rome.
But HBO does have some addictive programming.
I.E. The Sopranos.
