I am growing a single plant under 400W HPS and approx 70W of CFL.
Right now I am on day 24 of veg. I have been pretty impressed with its rate of growth under the HPS, and the CFLs are allowing for great secondary growth.
I depend highly on the cold weather to cool my closet via an adjacent window because of the 400W HPS. This means I would like my grow to be completely done by mid-late February.
My question is this: Assuming I have 90 more days of total growth, how many of those days should I continue it on veg, and how many days should I allow for flowering?
Innitially I planned on veging for 60 days and then flowering for 60 days, but recently I read a thread where someone said that they veg for only 4 weeks and flower for 10. I began to wonder if (especially with the huge HPS) I would get a better yield by allocating more days to flowering and less to veg. (this would also save me some on the electric bill, but that is not one of my major concerns). So I would like to know what others think about this. What are other's techniques, thoughts, opinions. Id like to hear from as many people as possible so I can weigh all the alternatives.
I would greatly appreciate all the feedback I could get!
Thanks,
