Marijuana Can Lead You to Risky Behaviors
According to a study from Family Planning Perspectives, teens who use marijuana are more likely to take risks that can negatively affect their lives and the lives of those around them. This study has found that students were 2-3 times more likely to be sexually active if they drank frequently, smoked cigarettes, or used marijuana.

So if I smoke weed more that means I have a 2-3times better chance of getting laid?! Trudat! I guess it is true that u learn something useful everyday.

Yeah kids who smoke weed are more likely to zone out playing PS2 for 10 hours straight. That's really risky behavior as well. Or eat everything in the frige. Yeah really risky. Those people don't know jack. They are probably people who have never even smelled weed before.

How exactly does somebody do a "scientific" study like this? Run around high-schools asking students "Do you smoke/toke and/or drink?" and "Are you sexualy active?" ? lol...the only conclusion I could get off something like that would be that drinkers and smokers have a better sense of humor than non-drinkers and non-smokers haha

Ya they gave me a study like that at my school that you didnt have to put your name on, so all my friends and I just put that we have done every single drug on there and that we dealed and all the shit, dont ever believe studies like that because students just mess around with them

Well since kids don't think, they mess up surveys like that. The numbers in it may not be accurate, but it seems people now have another reason against cannabis use. What do you think these surveys are for? To try and find the facts!

I do not think the legalazation of cannabis will be brought about by surveys taken by abunch of 12th graders

I agree with marinesf22...most public studies suck (especially school surveys, which are shoty at best); they're qualitative, inaccurate, and biased towards those who wish to keep cannabis illegal. Is there any REAL scientific evidence that suggests that cannibis and pre-marital sex are linked? I seriously doubt it.

If there're any doubts about what I said, just keep an ear on the news
--there is new evidence linking chocolate consumption with cancer...based on a two year study..blah blah blah
(two weeks later)
--In further news, new reports suggest that chocolate is an active cancer-fighting substance...blah blah blah

you just can't trust every study that pops up

I am against anything that will bring negative attention to cannabis use. This is just another reason for people to think wrongly of cannabis, and people vote, so yes it can effect cannabis legislation. Even small things can have larger impacts you know.

Yeah, I'm not upset, but I think if you are a cannabis user and you care about the laws. You should try and change how others view us and our use of it. I mean we are already stereotyped as lazy, habitual, dumb people, even though that is not true at all. And we need to deny the anti-cannabis people any fuel against us. :)

yeh, its like yesterday, i read a newpapaer article and it was saying how cannabis can cause mental illnesses, and when i read it, the people involved in the study, hadnt used cannabis before, and they injected them with some super strength delta-9-thc, and then the participants said that they had a completley different experience on life for a few days and they felt suspicion of people around them, i mean, all of that happens anyway, apart from suspicion that comes across as paranoia, the people that run these tests dont know bollox about marijuana, and make assumptions from results which came from non users who had been given cannabis in an abnormal way, if they smoked it im sure the people on the test would be asking for more! stupid scientists, get your shit straight before u lay it down. sorry if that dont make sense im a bit too stoned and should probabaly get away from my computer!

I bet the statistics are right, it's probably more correlation than causation though. Most cases kids who engage in premarital sex and smoke weed both take part in activities in which the primary purpose is pleasure. Also, if one is willing to cross the line with weed, then more than likely they're willing to cross the line with sex. I doubt it's that weed causes sex though, more than likely its that those who would engage in premarital sex are the rebellious types anyways and thus they at least try weed or smoke or drink. Then there's the whole stereotype with popularity and the like.

Ndhawk, I think you got it right on! But the unfortunate thing is that anti-cannabis people are just looking for things they can relate to or blame on cannabis use. And even though we know that kids would be drinking, smoking cigarettes, and having sex even if cannabis didn't exsist. It does and is illegal which is why parents and organizers target it.

When I was in high school and we took those surveys. I just bubbled in whatever I felt like. I never even read the questions. But the ones asking about drugs and sex I always bubbled in the worst ones. lol.

Marijuana leading people to 'risky behavior'... more like people who can't keep themselves in check when they're experimenting with mind altering chemicals because they don't know any better. I've never known a person to act out of character whilst on marijuana unless there was an underlying issue or they mixed it with alcohol or some other mind altering chemical. Also, studies usually aren't taken seriously by those who partake in them if they're merely done through survey by paper or phone.

Yeah. But I have underlying issues and I just veg out on the sofa and watch tv when I'm high. So I mean I don't know how it's hard to control your actions. Weed makes me not even want to move.

They dont say exactly what is wrong with pre marital sex. I am 30 and still having pre marital sex. Repressing the sex drive is far more harmful than putting on a condom and slappin ass. Freevibe sucks too
